Almost wish it was illegal to take the bigger walleye.. they are the big spawners and we need those to populate the species, I always toss back the 5+lbers. 3lbs is best fillets and ill eat those. I can understand a trophy but most trophies are made from scratch, no longer need the carcass.
GREATTTT JOB...I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU ARE NOT CUTTING OUT THE Y BONES....PS I NEVER SAW ANY ONE EVER RIP A FISH LIKE THAT BEFORE..COOL..PS YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY SINGLE DAY 😊❤..😢RINSE THEM AND FRY THEM UP...YUM YUM
No Y Bones in Walleyes. I think those are in northern pike. Walleye have the pin bones but when I zipper the fillets the pin bones come out with the “mudline”. #peaceloveandwalleyewings
@@johnprins4731 you mean the strip of pin bones he pulls out by hand after making twos short cuts on either side? a bit over half way through the video
I have that same fillet mat and it works amazing! I don’t know how you did so well with your catch recently. I’ve been skunked twice on the snake river using cranks and bottom bouncers. What do you suggest using right now for walleye?
Fernando, I’m working on becoming a guide by next year. But you can always connect with me on my social media accounts, FB or IG for updates. Thank you
Nice job! I also keep the cheeks and wings. I like the technique you use to cut through the ribs bones by starting at the middle of the fish and working back towards the head. I use the zipper method to finish as well. Tight lines bud!
@@thesampo I use crankbaits, check out an episode I did last year . I left the link in the description, you can find the lures I use there. Phantom crankbaits. It was a night episode.
Good video, you get the job done. I was cringing when you had the knife coming towards your hand a couple of times. Look up "zipping walleye" on youtube and you will see a much better way of removing the pin bones with zero waste.
@@JRODANGLING509 Hello from Baudette MN (Lake of The Woods). Loved the video. Not alot of people know about the wings and cheeks. They're so good. Look up Baudette, MN and Lake of The Woods fishing
