May I offer some advise. Maybe think about covering your windows so no one can see inside and try to steal your tools. I can't imagine those tools are cheap. But it's good to see you again. Please post when you are doing other jobs😊 thanks
Hmm.. I'll take a shot at the first - thoughtful question. IMHO In the modern world, we find great inspiration from philosophers of old because their timeless ideas and deep insights into human nature, ethics, and the world continue to resonate with us. Their philosophical inquiries and reflections on life's fundamental questions offer a sense of wisdom and guidance that transcends time, allowing us to learn from their perspectives and apply their teachings to our contemporary challenges and dilemmas. Additionally, their works often provoke critical thinking and contemplation, encouraging us to explore the complexities of existence and seek meaning in our lives. There is a timelessness to their writings. As to the second, if one if happy, kind, respectful, honest and forthright in our dealings with fellow humans, one really has no idea whom one may inspire or in what may. Many of us would be surprised that simply by being above, doing our best, enjoying our own lives who we may inspire in some way even if one thinks their life is ordinary. 😊
Love that you are doing these short clips like thid - although your carpentry work is also amazing to see. You make a great point here - make the effort to become more concious about setting your intention for the day, and exercise your choice for how and what you want to accomplish and how you want to experiemce it. Every day is a gift, many will not see another. Together with choosing gratefulness, to be happy, kind and respectful does make the experience of any day much better IMHO

In the US we call that tool a Bit stock. when we would set up a pool table you would use it to screw down the slate when leveling it. In order to maintain control along with a machinist level this tool would be best. Antique screws were flat heads. Even today I couldn't do it with anything else. When l was 6, I found dad's bit stock in his tool box, looked like a cool toy to me.. I sat in his recliner in front of the TV watching cartoons and just kept spinning it. I drilled a hole in the cushion of his favorite chair. I found out it wasn't a toy the hard way. Lol 😆 The things we never forget! 54 years later my ass still remembers the spanking...

Well…right place right time I guess and helps that I’m an EU National. But I will say this…chateau life is pretty wild, they are a huge beast that never sleep. The upkeep is beyond what you can imagine. But it all depends on your purpose of being there too. For me it was pure work for more than a year, and not a two week guest stay or a month as a volunteer. Anyway thanks for the comment and support Emma!
Thanks for the update. Keep us updated on your next adventure. I like a tool belt with the shoulder straps, they keep a lot of the weight off the hips. Good choice 👌
Some jobs, like that, are made miserable by all the gear you need to do them. Kind of sad they didn't by a new, bigger belt sander so they could be stained, but - less time in mask and suit! Love those cool, old door handles. Comfortably rounded and sized. The normal, modern ones here all have not enough depth away from the door durface anf are ridged, flat metal - hurts my hanfs n scrapes the knuckles. Blah!
