That first fly you tied is a very effective seatrout pattern on the coast and my biggest bass ever was caught on a similar pattern. They call it the Grey Fred in Denmark. Great effective pattern 🎣🎣🎣💯💯💯
Hi Peter - Great early season flies - would like to tie up some of those chartreuse nymphs but you mentioned melanistic PT which I presume is natural black but I cannot seem to find any - any ideas on where to source them please?
Are my right in saying that in your video "how to set up a dry dropper" that you are going from a 5x end of leader (4lb) up to 0.12mm and then down to 0.08mm TIA PS: I get confused with x, 0.12mm and 0.12 inches. Once again keep up the great work
Nice buggy nymph. From what i could see from the video. The water clarity was still fairly good.I have tried alsorts over the years.Silver tungsten beads seem to work best for me.When the river is real chocolate.A flash-back yellow shrimp with a hot orange seal hot-spot seems best for my rivers for trout & grayling.I know everyone says black nymphs. But often yellow for me.Looking forward to your video fishing it.Cheers
Hi Paul, best give us a call to talk you through the basics. But it's all about depth and how the fish want it retrieved. Whether completely static or very slow retrieve or odd jerk. Mark fished 6foot to first buzzer then 3.5 ft between his other 3 buzzers. This was best due to depths of water he was fishing. Fish wanted them static. But you got to allow for drift and wind. If boat is drifting you want to keep the slack off the line to the point that you aren't moving the buzzers as such or barely at all. And just wait for the pull and lift into the fish more so then strike. But all tends to be on fish behaviour and how they are taking on day. If buzzers are fully on fish will just take fierce but sometimes they can be picky. So strike can be altered.
