I had a MK11 Petite in the 70's. Purple colour, Reg No RNP399, It was great fun until the starter ring shattered and it was off the road for a while till I got a new one cast. It was slow, noisy and the cabin would fill with exhaust smoke/fumes, which was the cue to open the "sunroof". I did drive it 4 up once- My mate and I picked up two girls who needed a lift home. One was perched between us and the other sat in the well above the engine.I think we hit 40mph at one point! Great fun.
Brilliant! I've been interested in these since a got a library book about Villiers engines when I was a child! Any chance of a video of the engine starting?
