These videos are really incredible. Thanks for posting them all these years. You’ll never know when you might capture an invaluable moment of an aloof artist.
'So it's a circle drawn by a priest'...Cage looks positively giddy at the reference but Kathan gracefully and very quickly interrupts the self indulgence with her 'You don't want to fancy yourself'. Gave me a good chuckle thank you!
Good, short video. Wayne Thieband's test plate of the ocean scene was excellent, & I found the scratching of the plates with a sharp tool by Tom Marioni pretty interesting.
Such wonderful work and good energy! A far cry from those artists who walk around with interlocked fingers behind their backs overseeing the printers and technicians in action.
In 1990-91. I studied printmaking with a then young lady master printmaker and professor in Oakland, California, Bettye Friedman. The video brings back memories of those days in the classroom studio. My printmaking experiences greatly influenced my drawing and painting.
My morbid pleasure was sticking with Dibenkorn throughout his determination to complete the print...my mind was to print and paint on that small triangle. We must appreciate the hard work that went into a print. Thank you for sharing this video.
Wow, to watch Diebenkorn at work. To see the really small things and many decisions that go into making a great print is a great lesson in patience and persistence. Happy to take the abandoned print off your hands CPP.
