Hey Chris Topics to cover spinning gear in the rivers. I get why you guide with line counter. I was in AK in August throwing 1/2 oz lures on 7’-3” JR tackle custom rod real stiff. 20#/6dia red power pro & spider wire. Casting almost 1/2 way across trying to cover a lot Of water. Reel was older abu 20 size. Trouble was line line would stuck in upper part Of rod. I better explain coils inside coils inside coils. many times I could fix before getting Snagged. I all ways make sure line is getting spooled up correctly. Pierhead, river, or Wadding up by Tippy dam spin casting is critical way to fish. Called Power Pro he didn’t Know what was causing my issue. In joy watching. Your garage is fine!
I really enjoy your videos, can you give any information on the pier fishing for steelhead? I sure would appreciate it. Thank you I will stop by the shop when I come up. 👍👍🎣
I'd like to see about getting a DNR to come on and let us know how many fish are being stocked and have been past few years, in all the inland lakes and Lk Mi. if possible. I'm really interested in the Walleye and Kings, from Ludington to Charlevoix and all the lakes in between. I try to read about it on the DNR web site when it's on there. Thanks CPT. Chris
I have been using slide divers for Lake Ontario trout and Salmon for years . I find a lot of the dipsy rods are to stiff . My favorites are 10 ft Eagle Claw Starfire . Med action . I use 80 # braid albright knot to 50 ft of 30# big game mono ( both fiod for flea control) , the diver sliides on that . Then a bead , swivel and 6 fr of 15 or 20# flouro . Works great and catch a ton of fish on it . I find mono has to much stretch ao i like the braid . I have 4 setups . I small diver for up to 40 ft down 1 reg size dor down to 60 ft . And 2 reg size with depth rings good to 75 fr or so. Landed many big kings on these setups .
Potential topics: Features of various big boats that set them apart from each other. Why do people like Tiara's and what are the boat features that are remarkable? How about Bertrams? Etc...I'm guessing these boats use two engines. Do you troll with one, two, or alternate to spread out the hours? What is the purpose of a fly bridge? How are the various transducers mounted to the hull? What fuel economy do these big boats get? I'm guessing these boat engines are also used in land vehicles. How do the boat engines differ from their land bound brethren? If there's two engines do they rotate their props opposite? How about the props...brass, aluminum, ss? How durable are the exposed drive trains to collision...floating debris and such? Are these charter boats commonly equipped with side thrusters for docking? What are the hulls, decks etc. made from? Thanks
Hi Chris love your program been watching from the beginning, I would like to see more lake trout tactics and what's spoons for lake trout also guest captains are great would like to hear from captain further north of Frankfort on lake Michigan if that could be possible 👍
Try & get an interview w/ Jay Wesley . He is the MDNR Lake Mich. basin coordinator. / director(I think). He puts a lot of info out on FB & usually gets a lot of crap from folks that like to shoot the messenger ! He deserves better. Also, maybe a how to on bobber fishing w/ skein. Thanks Chris for all that you do. Yer Awesome ! Edit: how bout you also get an interview w/ Kenny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've got a lot of hours, flying planes in the clouds...nothing was ever as terrifying as being out there in the dark and having THICK fog set in. I can ignore the vertigo in the plane, by trusting my instruments. I can ignore the vertigo in the boat, because I know we're not pitching or rolling. I can't ignore the sound of other boats at full throttle in close proximity. TERRORFYING!!!
I'd have to chalk this one up to "small stuff"...so I wouldn't become as big a doucher as him. It's a bit different when they turn into you then throw a tantrum at you as though it's your fault for being in THEIR way. That happened multiple times, almost every time, out of Manistee. Then there's those jackwagon that plow through the crowd at full speed. This was a douche move on his part...but it's all relative, I guess!
@@tangledtacklefishinga couple rigger rods, divers, and enough tackle to get me on some fish. I have not trolled for kings yet so I’m trying to gather as much info here before heading out. When would be a good time to swing by your shop to have a chat face to face?
@@OilfieldTrash78 I don’t own the shop or even work there, but the guys there will definitely get you hooked up. Stop in anytime from 8-5 and they will take care of you.
@@tangledtacklefishing10-4, we’re likely gonna be concentrating on Saginaw Bay up until ice but I want to get set up for next year. I’ll definitely book a trip with you. Thanks
