One of the best experiences of my life. Shame they don’t go around the world anymore. I understand saving money but coming back to the USA was such a pivotal moment after being in countries like China and India. It made you love your country even more regardless of politics.
Thank you Dean John for your continued passion for this program! We met again in Chicago at an SAS meet up a few years back and I had my son fly in from Portland, Or. to meet you! I was on Spring 80 and he was on Summer 2010. SAS was life changing for me! I ended up studying Mandarin Chinese when I returned and spent a summer in Taiwan after that to teach ESL! I have traveled the world since then! God bless!
This is Brett Keeshin from Chicago. I was on the Spring 1980 voyage- a few of us from the University of Illinois were on that voyage. So amazing to see a Spring 80 fellow voyager.
So good to see you again, John! I still remember your best piece of advice to us before we departed for the Fall 2004 voyage - "Don't make assumptions!" Always stayed with me. Thank you for everything. Bon voyage from 'The Voice'.
John listening to you was reminiscent of my first voyage with you Fall 1992. Your passion for the program and your words about the program remains with me. Thank you!
Thank you for sending out this message about Semester At Sea. It changed my life and opened my eyes in a way that could not have been achieved in any other way. Nice to see you again!
Thank you Dean Tymitz! SAS was one of the most life changing adventures that ever happened to my 3 siblings and I! All 4 of us sailed on the ship on our Junior year in college. We were grateful that our parents valued a global education that opened our hearts and minds. And I am forever grateful for you saving my passport upon arrival back to Seattle, WA! 🙏🏼 We should all support the this amazing voyage because we know it is much more than a ship… it is the start of a life changing journey
