@@LaluBhaiya1233 as long as you are happy to pay your heating bills every month non stop and you have enough money to pay your heating bills that’s fine use it as much as you want
Ah neat you got one of them. Do be careful when tightening the screws on the base as it may cause some accidental damage. Those fans are typically slower spinning but that is spinning a bit slower than usual
@@Connectitthefancollector yeah I think it just needs WD40 then it will be better I think that I would have given it WD40 anyway as it belonged to my sports teacher at college and she doesn’t want it anymore
Okay I will be careful hopefully I won’t have to remove the screws on the base as everything there on the fan is fine it’s just everything else on the fan that needs doing up do you still have your one
@JoshHart-sj7ht Still got mine laying about, although I have been meaning to sell it off. Another thing is that WD-40 isn't a good oil to use for lubricating fan bearings, they're good for unseizing a seized motor but not good for lubrication
@JoshHart-sj7ht oh don't worry to much was joking . Don't want to scare you. There was a recall many years back on smc fans, which was referring to. Effected a few 16 inch models in usa. Don't think any uk models were affected
@JoshHart-sj7ht yes could be the case. Just a little quirk, I say. The carlton doesn't do it, and the 2007 homebase. For example two tesco df96s they will sound the same but ever so slightly different if that makes sense, general quirk. Some will sound smoother or quiter than others, and some will oscillate better than others.
My mum used to have a 2010 Challenge desk fan that would go this slow. Eventually the motor blew out and she replaced it with a Honeywell 9 inch turbo fan.
My mum's 12 inch 2010 Challenge desk fan would do the slow thing this fan is doing. She doesn't have that fan anymore since she got a 9 inch Honeywell fan.
The condition on that overall is excellent. To be fair they do have some good blade pitch and airflow output for a 6" fan is good, although one thing about SMCs that I always like is the airflow output from them is always good.
@@HoardersUnion so extractor means it extracts the air out if you mean if it can blow out it can’t it just extracts as in it sucks the air in then the extracted air goes through the fan then outside
I remember one of my friends used to have the 7 inch version years ago. It probably doesn't work anymore because the last time I saw it the motor was failing.
At my respite I had unboxed one of these exact fans and it was okay, apart from the noisy motor and the fan changing speeds when it was on oscillation.
@@JoelyB2006 ahh right there still SMC fans it’s just it’s just the Homebase 12” is the remake of a 2000 SMC 12” desk fan and my other Homebase 12” desk fan is a remake of a 2007 SMC 12” desk fan both 7 years between both of them
Lol I probably wouldn't be allowed to take my 2020 Challenge 12 inch desk fan into college, even if it was pack tested. Either the teacher would shout at me or the principal would expel me. (Yes, the principal at my college is that strict) At my college literally only the offices has fans, mostly USB fans, though I saw a 2007 Challenge 12 inch desk fan in the Student Hub, a Fine Elements 12 inch chrome 3 in 1 pedestal fan at one of the canteens and I see Prem-I-Air 16 inch pedestal fans dotted about. A lot of the classrooms have air conditioning though. That fan is very nostalgic though.
