@@TheTerryMarsh1 I have absolutely no idea. Every comment, deleted, hidden or held for revision is shown in author's YT studio imterface. From your account there was none.
@@TheTerryMarsh1 That also happened to me a couple of times. It's really annoying when you compose a nice comment and then can't find it there. I feel sorry for you...
Hi, sorry, no idea. This is a global model though, not Japan-only, so there's a good chance someone is selling in India. I got mine from Amazon, you may try it also. Good luck!)))
Awesome video, thx! Question my DCD-695 (same drive) skips (jumps) during playback but only at the very beginning of a CD. What would you do there, what is the reason for it?
Hi, thanks. I would check the self-calibration fugures, if they are within specs. Pickup defects aside, it may also be the dirty or badly oiled screw rod, that does not allow the pickup head to move to the terminal position. Hard to tell without seeing.
@@sirrosh69Imagine, Just cleaning the lens with a cotton swap with a tiny bit of isopropanol + some maintenance of all sliding surfaces fixed the problem! It now plays right from 00:01 without interruption 🙂
@sirrosh69 I mean not the shots with only the dial at some 60 degrees 101% the size of the frame. People would love to see it with the transition to the strap, all in focus, with the play of light, a little play of angles. Why focus on crazy macros at large angles?
@@GEMSofGOD_com thank you for a tip, next time will do it better. However I wanted to focus on a movement, as the title shows. Plastic escapement mechanismus is not a new thing (Tissot), but I never heard that about Sistem51, so I wanted to share this knowledge in the first place.
it´s a pitty not hear the recorded sound in the deck ,the cassette you put to play might not have the same azimuth ,enough to sound bad, it was a less than 100€ cassette player, i was looking to buy a new system in 88 as i was using still a ofered system from 76 ,if you open the catalog of that year and look for the most expensive components was what i´m still using either than a more modern system , now i change the 76 system for a exclusive pioneer system the C3 control amplifier, two M6 mono blocks ,the 2401 twin speakers, a P3 turntable, a tascam reel deck from 71 ,professional model and a phase linear 7000 just restored, it sounds amazing. I think pioneer bought phase linear as the display is the same but in the pioneer is all blue ,the CT-F1250 and the phase linear is coloured also a bit later they release a very similar but built with cheaper materials CT-A1 cassette deck. the deck makes part of a series two phase linear system and the power amplifier says in the back built by Carver who released excelent material in early 80´s in his own name
Yeah, this one is very basic indeed. But nevertheless it does the job with pretty good consistency (i.e. it is consistently mediocre))) For the everyday listening it's ok, though.
I was getting ready to try and fault find an old PD S507 that wouldn't start. Turns out, from your video, the cd has to be placed uside-down. i would never have thought of that, never seen it on any other player. Thanks!
Hi, this is a standard Chinese radio-on-chip. So probably poor. It kills DAB radio reception in my car while transmitting on 144800. On the contrary this car has a Yaesu FTM-400XD mounted permanently and this never happened with it, even at full power.
I'm seeing much talk about firmware downloads that do amazing things but just starting to look into them. Sometimes the details on some of them are somewhat hidden, like whether one has GPS or not. Some are right out there with it, others, especially reviews on YT and some sales platforms like Aliepress , have people reviewing that have only certain things that they need and rate the radio according to that one need. A spreadsheet table with ALL the possible model numbers, and features, would really help. Take the CHIRP option, an update will come out with some of these that has a fix for that. And, upgrades seem to be being written by people other than the manufacturers !
Hey, I was about to buy one of these for motorbike riding and conect it to the Cardo headset. You said you couldn't connect it to a headset, right? Do you know any other that could work conected to a BT headset?
Hi, indeed there's no option to connect anything on the menu, it behaves like BT endpoint, not a host. From what I own the Yaesu FT3D allows to pair a headset.
@@sirrosh69 Which BT headsets have you been successful with . I have a FT5D and am having little luck with most. I had found out that the one Yaesu recommends was BT version something like 4.1 and got a BT with that version, still no luck, no connect with anything ? Not sure if its operator error on my part ?
Hi, no Sund? Check the outputs direct on the DAC with your oscilloscope. You know, no signal on it, DAC chip overheats? Change the chip. You already verified voltages. If so, track the signal to the opamp and the coupling capacitors. Good luck!! Tschüs!!
Thanks! The radio fw is 1.1_211022, APRS fw 220430_D4, theese are the ones Radtel support gave me later, the same versions was in the radio on arrival. Re-flashing gave no real difference.
Yes, indeed, it is rather simple, but sounds surprisingly good! All the things I've calibrated are exclusively for recording, if someone wants only a good playback device -- this is not important, only the transport mechanics should be addressed
I have another version from IK and it's working for past 6 months. But they haven't used any lubricants inside which won't let the machine to work for years.
I had a Pioneer PD-S504 CD Player, and the same problem happened. A friend of mine repaired the player with gluing the lense, but a few time later, the lense fell again. I was disgusted as I did really appreciate this player (matched with a DENON PMA 360 that I still have) but today when I see the cost of Pioneer laser unit fot this model, it does hurt...
It is not a problem to glue it again, just be carefull with the lens itself. As I mentioned in the comments, cyanacrylic glue will do the job and it has ~10yrs lifespan, so it's something else that will fail next time, not the glue :)
Dial, yes, that's probably plastic. Also there's no lume on hands and digits, just paint. The movement itself is a real thing though, there's not much they can simplify while keeping the actual function. Of course there's a question of the production culture, that's cheap, no doubt. There's a Sea-Gull "brand" chinese watches and you can find the watchmaker's reaction here on YT.
Yeah, but keep in mind this is not a time keeping device with its +32s/day drift and 2.3ms unstability (that means "ticks" differ from "tocks" for this value on average).
Correcto amigo, si el laser no lee, no hay rotación del disco, tuve una falla así con un AIWA y era el lector óptico, lo remplacé y listo empezó a funcionar correctamente.
Thank you, a very useful video for me. I knew there was something missing but didn't know what it was, when you flipped the laser assembly over I noticed immediately that I had a spring missing which holds those two geared racks in place, very useful. Now I just need to find a spring.
The button may be a bit dirty or stuck (does the display say "TRACK?" on pressing PGM?). But that looks to be a secondary problem, because this player won't even go from STANDBY to ON if it would have any of the button shorted (IR remote aside, I'm speaking of the front panel buttons here).
Hi, please check if all the voltages are ok. The second thing is to check the tray end switch, it may think the tray is still open. The third thing is to check the spindle motor wiring, the motor itself or its drivers rarely go bad from my experience.
Me too))) It works really fine up until the ~70 minute of a disk, then it _may_ be a bit skippy. I'm preparing the last part where I'll do the optical pickup tuning. In the service manual they say you need the special test CD, but I discovered that any optical medium with amplitude modulation (CD-R, it is) and filled up to the end will do the job.
@@sirrosh69 I watched your video because I have the same problem. Bought a cassette and CD player. The cassettes work, but the problem is with the disc player - I pressed the tray of boards to pull out and the lens neatly lies there. I can not return the seller, I will try to repair it.
Haven't done any measurements yet. I'm planning "revisiting" this one: mixer/oscillator transistor of KT315 type is marginally suitable for this role. Will change that and there's an idea to add a simple wideband RF amp before it.
Do you mean the crystal filter? AFAIK they rarely go bad, the sensitivity drops significantly in this case. BTW I managed to dig another radio of the same type, but about 10 years newer. So I've got the donor))) The tuning capacitor is the first thing that should go, trimmers will be the second thing - they barely changing capacity because of the rotten silver layer on them. Vishay trimmers would fit, being 4 EUR/piece this is a significant investment though))).
In general you're 100% right and I don't have any illusions about it. But in certain cases that doesn't affect much the overall radio performance, you can always tell when the certain cap is bad by the symptoms (quiet sound/muffled/too fast ALC/"motorboating" etc). For my other radio (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TIKqPtPAx1s.html) I did change several caps and looking forward to change a transistor in the oscillator/mixer cirquit, because KT315 is marginally suitable for the job)))
Hi, my guess that it's a mere coincidence. What kind of help do you expect here? If you feel confident - open it and try to diagnose, starting from the power source... which is to be the main suspect when something's not powering on.
Cool video, well done! That was interesting for me a s an introduction to the different world of caravans. Last time I went to Amper exhibition, you may know it well :)
Thanks for the feedback, we were planning to take you with us for each our trip last year, but the end of february 2022 messed our plans up completely... Only two short vids from Poysdorf came out on the channel. Anyway, thank you for being with us! :)
