hey! so the last part of the video was actually insane! didn’t need to know how much you empathize with rapists!! i understand your point but sexually violent media is and always will be taboo for a reason. rape will never be justified under any circumstances, but murder can be. in a lot of games, you aren’t just murdering but defending yourself, and you’re not always the villian just because you are murdering. does that make sense? violence will always be justified as horrible as it is. but sexual violence will never be justified or tolerated and rapists will NEVER and i mean NEVER be equal to or less than murderers. i think you forgot about all of the shmegma and shit scenes and started dick riding super hard. this media is taboo for a reason, it’s not on the front pages for a reason, so while yes it is a thought provoking and interesting story, it deserves it’s reputation. not everyone can look past being a rapist.
2 years later, and the game is still broken. I went through the entire game about a month ago, and got softlocked on the last mission because i loaded a save...💀
i think my issue with the talk about the two black characters just chatting, no tokenism or something (53:07) didn't work for me as an argument because this wasn't two characters who were black and chose not to talk about this, but it was an Npc talking with the Custom player character. In all games i've played, Npcs react to quite a lot of things about the player, usually gender, class, and if fantasy, whenever the player is a human, orc, or whatever. but skincolor never plays a role in dialouge with Custom player characters. there is no "flag" for skincolor, where this or that dialogue plays if they have a certain level of melanin. i see what kim is saying, it's nice to have two people of a certain group talk about something that doesn't relate to their skincolor or tokenism. but what she liked in that scene was just... how to call it... its the typical custom character situation. i could runaround in rainbow-pimp gear, with a face only a mother could love, and they'd still act like i was normal human being. despite how out of scene i look. but then again, my issue just is, i want Npc's to react to my character, if i look ridiculous i want them to comment on it. just like we as humans tend to do if we see something that draws attention.

It seems like a genuine good story but holy sht I hate how the rpe scenes are so graphic and extensive (censoring bc idk if yt still takes down comments for that), in my opinion it would be a better game without all of those scenes unless they actually had plot relevance, the story couldve been easily done without that stuff I havent played the vn so I could be wrong but adding the character who looks like a young girl was very wrong

Other than aim/reaction, you need to learn jumps/movement tricks for each map to be able to move around the map as quick as possible. Have to also be able to track timers of item respawns. Never followed any of this sweet baby inc shenanigans that people were saying, but in general could tell that many CCs were "against" them in a way I may be biased and misinformed here as i didnt really watch other perspectives, nor did i fact check the information in this video (i really could not be bothered about video game company drama, just let me play my shit) but at face value, this video seems really well researched and it addresses and counters the narrative these CCs are trying to push really well, so genuinely, props to you on getting me hooked about a topic i didnt really give a fuck about for close to 2 hours
So I guess the TL;DR of this is that there were communication problems and a pointless conflict, and pointing the problems of things to a singular entity is silly, when it's the entirety of the system or there are other factors playing, honestly I only vaguely knew about this problem and it seems to have lost relevancy at this point, so probably either side made it seem bigger than it actually was. Good job, nonetheless.
My typical evenings after work in 2001: 30 - 60 minutes Counter-Strike, followed by 30 - 60 minutes Unreal Tournament online ... followed by QIIIA online open end. This game changed my life due to the fact that I met some people by playing QIIIA back in the days, who I still keep contact with and have become friends with in real life.

While I understand that many people watch videos passively, I try to tailor the experience to be in tune with the visuals, this production in particular has many sound cues to what is happening on screen; When a name tag pops up, there is an auditory response, certain text "clicks" into place, motion is accompanied with subtle effects to emphasize them. I decided to pivot towards designing an active experience, if that leads to some distraction for a passive watch-through, then so be it! Thank you for the feedback!
35:17 Actually you are wrong. ☝️🤓 According to the Internet, the ps3 had "256 MB of XDR DRAM main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory" So not just 256 total. The xbox 360 shares 512mb between gpu and cpu. So they roughly had the same memory budget. I guess 360 gave more flexibility to the devs how to allocate them.
It doesn't matter how many patches are pumped out and how many new items or features are added. No patch can solve the main problem of the game. Postal 4 is full of random, juvenile, mostly sexual, but basically good-natured humor that permeates the entire game world and atmosphere. The misanthropic rage and hatred that drove the first two episodes is gone. Fixing this would require redesigning almost everything, including the story and missions, and that is what they will never do.
Man, I have so much nostalgia for the Source era games. Multiplayer was better back in the day. Endless custom servers with endless maps and mods, everyone talked, you knew the people on your favorite servers, annoying people and cheaters were simply banned by the mods. There was also something about the graphics of the Source engine that is super hard to explain, but they had this weird look that made these games feel kinda surreal. It was a similar feeling liminal spaces induce. Combined with the fact that there were these endless weird custom maps made joining a new server feel like being Alice in Wonderland. Does anyone else relate to this?
The one thing I remember from playing this game as a teen is how absolutely brutal the recoil was. Together with the fast movement speed, it was a really hard game to master. This was the game I learned how to aim in shooters.

Sound design is one of my favorite parts in games. Mirror's Edge shows how to do it right with impactful effects. Tons of details in these sounds wow, the devs truly created a world with them, another reason why games are an artform. I love Foley and the huge part it plays in media, not enough people appreciate it! Awesome editing and video Dude!
It is very clear that this game was made for quick money. The next game from RWS will show which path they are on, but for me, RWS is over. Fan made Mods look way better than Postal 4 shit.
