One other thing I think they forgot to mention in this clip is that had to have all their amps in a separate room with the mics because they were too loud
Call it sacrilege, but I like the Jerusalem mix and the main reason is that you can hear Chris Hakius' snare drum better, and his beats are so fucking primal on this track - Even the new 2023 mix does not have his snare up high enough. Jerusalem goes good in the car and Al's bass is heavier/more prominent in that mix as well
Music hasn’t been feeling the same to me, I listen to a lot of Emo rap and some gothic music idk the name of the genre but this just hits the heart! Makes me wanna go on a quest to better myself! I’m new to black this genre of music and I love it! Old nick is dope
Justin Marler left sleep after they recorded vol. 1 and went on to become an Orthodox Christian monk and founded death to the world magazine. You can see the influence this had on some of the band members later work if you look at the band OM, incorporates a lot of themes, imagery, and terminology from orthodoxy, albeit mixed in with influences from other faiths.

@@thetruemusichead nonono i totally get it as the compliment I just think ugly mane veered more into dirty ugly genre-bending territory and thus had sort of the same appeal, not taking the establish norms and elitism seriously while substituting their own sick humor instead
This whole album is like nothing ever heard before and probably no one will ever make anything this dissonant and beautiful again. So sad that hardly anyone will ever hear of them or this gorgeous song. There is beauty in the dissonance. Just listen for it.
