hi, i’m from sydney - love watching your vlogs, they’re so relaxing after a long week of working! enjoy your time here 😄 it’s also great to see other sydneysiders in the comments giving recommendations for food! i’ll drop down a list of food spots you might like. in no particular order: - cafes / brunch / crossiants: la lune market (north strathfield), happyfield (haberfield), pina (potts point), moon phase (st leonard’s) - coffee: gumption (cbd), single o, artificer coffee (surry hills) - korean: just stay around strathfield and lidcombe area. hansang and miss ari are good. west ryde also has good korean! - chinese: stay around burwood or go to eastwood. spicy joint, yangguofu malatang, yang’s dumplings, mr stonevowl, my aunts handmade noodles, 1917 lanzhou beef noodles (all burwood). mr hotpoter in burwood chinatown is worth the queue; it’s extremely cheap for two people ($25~ total). - japanese: edomae sushi (burwood), kosuke ramen (north strathfield), nakano darling (darling harbour) for late night drinks - GET THE BANH MI AT TOP RYDE BAKER’S HOUSE! Get the roasted pork one. It’s the best thing you’ll have in your life. Sydneysiders have strong opinions on banh mis; you may also like Marrickville Pork Roll! - italian: many good places but giuls and vasco (surry hills) are a good starting point for pasta! - i highly recommend you go to newtown, enmore and surry hills; this is where a lot of good food is at (i.e thai, italian, middle eastern). go to thai pothong, it’s time for thai and cairo takeaway. generally most restaurants here are good. - ice cream and desserts: lab (strathfield) for bingsu, meet fresh (burwood) for taiwan, ice kirin bar (burwood/cbd) for tea ice cream, hakiki (burwood) for turkish (get the kunefe on a cold day - life changing), mapo, cow & the moon (surry hills) and gelato messina (various locations) for gelato. you can always check reddit.com/r/foodies_sydney for consistently excellent recommendations! also if you use tiktok avoid going to cafes recommended by sydney food influencers like placesinsydneyfoodie. they’re usually paid by cafes to promote, and are disappointing in real life. other places you might enjoy visiting to see the sunset or relax: rhodes waterside, the bay run (public transport is difficult though), mrs macquarie’s chair, observatory hill park, baranagroo reserve. hope you find these lists helpful! :)
If I can make a recommendation - Leible and DiggyDoos are my personal favourite cafes in the city. Please keep up the great videos- it's refreshing to see someone else's experiences being a sydney native myself
relaxing - nice closeups of food are appetising - even the piece of bread ! Had to look up Industry Beans - York St opposite Ipoh Town - a place for Malaysian food
