Hello! Welcome to the The Ice Kingdom where I, The Ice King, rule and spend my spare time doing various hobbies to kill time between the wars to conquer all the lands. Primarily I play/paint Warmachine and Gunpla but we will have some other content on the channel such as the random video game or card game maybe. Join me and my good friend as we tackle the wonder hobby of table top gaming and master it both in painting and playing.
Side info: I am slowing building up my rig for my skeletuber with a reveal coming soon!
If this had been the army from the start I would have been all in. As it is I will probably wait to pick them up until I can get the units and solos outside of the cadre box.
I had some brainstorming that the fane of nyrro will be a bit more normal to old ret like the ryvnvosss but that's just a gut feeling. This cadre is dope and will be a good chunk of lists so you'll be cruzing with the elk mom 😎
@@theiceking6499 Fane of Nyrro will in all likelihood be the old school Eldritch of Ios. Unless there have been some pretty major changes to the situation in Eversael.
I think we will be doing at least one of each new box, one for the content, two for a good variety to test on before buying what we need for more competitive lists.
studio is pretty rad on gravediggers. they have big WW1 desaturated yellow and whatever vibes. so like Kaki , olive drab or kaki and desaturated robin egg blue would be rad.
So from the Gen 1 resin HUGE improvements From the dark dark resin that I think the shadow flame was printed with I would say not noticeable in table top details, more finer details a bit more clear. But nothing major, Truthfully the darker resin shows up on video better for unboxings then the new stuff haha
There is gonna be some late backer options for wave 2 I'm pretty sure! And they will probably be a wave 3 unsure plenty of chances to get these minis in the future 🩵
Nope it's actually doing even better then last year, bokur brawl one of the bigger events on the east coast is on the verge or already has sold out a 96 person event and that was only one of the events they are hosting. Mk4 had a slow start but once the growing pains got figured out its been up and up since
*SPOILERS . . . People think it is Cryx because the Orgoth meet with Denegra to trade Blightergast's Athanc for information on how to kill a God. I think it will be a Blightergast faction because of the Champion of Blightgast and his followers... the Champion is supposedly a reincarted dead hero from the past. The Gnarlgast is the Orgoth Colossal. Partial preview pick was shown off.
Garlghast is a big island in cryx, and is the name of the orgoth colossal/gargantua, and there is the legacy cryx caster witch coven of garlghast At first i thought it would be cult of blighterghast, but than matt said it would be a surprise model that would work for the Defender coalition, so house kallyss, storm legion and winter korps players may get a 80 or 120 mm champion of blighterghast solo, if is lesser than 80 it will be disapointing, and privateer said that the next army would appear in the last chapter, and cryx appeared. Additionaly the comunity assumed that there would be parity between focus/fury armys, but privateer never said that, and there was a not in the cryx from privateer on an order saying "sooner than you think", But the mercs, Only belighul cares about being a beast based army, the others are system agnostic, and madam moriarty is a gatorman wich traditionaly worked with cryx. Even if its fury based there are four cryx fury forms: 1)Blighted trollkin with black trolls and "blighted dire trolls" 2)Blighted shark tharn with amphibious beasts and "warp sharks"(warp wolf but a shark) 3)Priesthood of torruk with Blighted fauna or Torruks dragonspawn 4)????? with Bone wold like constructs, that i have less thats floated by people on the comunity hub caveat, i don´t want to be cryx, im going to invest in orgoth and in khymaera right now cryx could wait till wave 2 you know(i love cryx) if its cryx at least be cryx and be fury based and not focus based toruks dragon knights
i bet you all arent aware that MWG tried doing this about 10 years ago. the game never grew beyond their small buy loyal fan base, the game was DEAD within a few months. now they have more subs and fans so it might last a little longer but this game is going absolutely nowhere, idgaf how cool some of the models are, like i said they tried this 10 years ago and it fell flat on its face
stuff like the void engine is why I love warmachine so much, replacing my units with undead spirits every time a single model dies is so fun and flavorful and even other undead factions in other games really don't have much like it,
Just got to do it tonight at locals, feels just as cool as it sounds haha. Warmachine really is a fantastic game and the models fit into there lore very well
Nice models! How do you like the 3d printed resin? I fell off the pp bandwagon at the tail end of mk2 and i know the local scene pretty much died down within a year or 2 after that. To the point my flgs won't touch pp products again with a 10 foot pole, sadly.
At first they were rough ngl, but they have definitely improved and thankfully if have a break, resin breaks cleanly or there replacement system is fantastic. The Models themselves have TONS of detail jammed in there which I love, really makes the model be complete and they don't get jumbled like metal models do with the details. Lots of ways to play online! Wartable is a good example and for product my locals has a website and few other stores if you ever want to get models.
@theiceking6499 good to know, i definitely want to pick some up at some point. For old time's sake, if for nothing else! I've kinda lost track of things but the iron kingdoms was such a fantastic setting!
the models are just great to have and paint, game is gonna have some changes in the new year so go with rule of cool or wait for the balance update id say, let me know what you end up with! @@nicolastousignant9160
That survivor series format is very similar for a tournament format that was run back in Mk1. The big difference was that models could be repaired round to round. Local wise for bigger tournaments, the best close place to us would be Battlegrounds in Richmond, and likely the easiest to get too travel wise; unless we go all the way up to Nova. Their is a huge store in Nova called Huzzah Hobbies (that I used to work at during Mk2) that has a huge Tabletop game room with 14 4x8 tables, an 85 player board and card game room, and snack bar with a Liquor license. It is also up by Adam Pricer (and about 1 hour from where Nova Open was, and could possibly access their terrain resources) and the Nova Nomad/ Molly Wopper base area. Change to Tournaments, I think SR 2024 is going to change things up a lot. Alec and I have been talking about this a bunch. I suspect Zones and likely flags are going to go away. I suspect area terrain/buildings with become the new areas to control. Also the preview Objective gift set has 1 50mm, 1 40mm, 1 30mm, and 2 20mm objectives in it. I suspect their will be variable types of objectives that can be interacted and scored by different types of models. Look at the Battlegrounds Narrative missions, many of the elements including movable objective/etc can be found there. They are also in Warcaster missions and I think that is going to come over to Warmachine. VPs were a thing that was used in Warmachine early on in Mk1, and several very abusive strategies came to head early on which made PP abandon that scoring system. I doubt PP will go back to VPs. It would take a lot of balancing to make them feasible and any Area Effect or delaying feats/long range shooting/ magic armies would need nerfs. Also could you ask the guy that grabbed 3 Khymaera Preview boxes, Joe? and see if he would part with one of the extra warlocks. I want to get my hands on one sooner then later...
Second Ravaged Star campaign will start soon. I love these models too. I got the same package. These minis will be available for the second run for those who missed them. I will probably back the second campaign. They are adding two new factions: bugs and dwarves. Not sure if I will use the Veil Touched in 40K or try the Ravaged Star rules.
I Def backing the second campaign as well!! Only a few days before it opens up again. I saw the video for the rules not sure how I feel about the token system yet but early rules and all. I will be using them for some warmachine as I well I think got a few models that'll work, still working on that document tho haha
So the reason we used steamroller or the 2 narrative 30pt scenarios for week 1, instead of the old journey league starting mission, is because it is 30pts instead of battlebox starting and armies need to only run one warjack or warbeast till 75pts, so kill the caster or Cohort models scenario does not work as well. Jason, the Brinebloods player won both his games on Sunday.
I think it's also good to get more play time early with thinking I can play mot just by caster kill, these 50 point games this weekend should be awesome to play can't wait!! Hoping you stay for a while and play 2 or 3
@@theiceking6499 Awesome, Jason is out of town this week (Brinebloods Player) and Joe's wife should be having their baby anytime (Skorne Player) so he may not be out, but it should be a good turn out other wise. I am looking forward to getting in several games myself.
Looks pretty sweet. Can you use rattle can primer on them? I know sometimes with that softer plastic material it reacts with the propellant in the rattle can primer and it never fully dries.
