@@RF-pf4sm thanks. I had never seen a thresher shark in real life previously...but had heard of them because they were mentioned in the script in the original 1975 movie Jaws.
@@sunesnigel Thanks! I brought only a 10k mAh power bank. Since there was limited internet I stayed on Airplane mode 99% of the time & conserved battery when possible.
I am enjoying your content. Keep up the good work! Mina videor om Kungsleden är på RU-vid nu. Den var en mycket spännande upplevelse! Kings Trail / Kungsleden ru-vid.com/group/PLZagpVwkLMBSvrJq1AHrRoA5HQqrE92vy
Thank you for a great video! And I believe, one of the most recent of the Kungsleden :) May I ask, how did you resupply if the shops didn't have much food as you mentioned?
@@medeinabirgilaite1122 About every other STF hut had a shop for resupplying. However, I actually started with a 22kg backpack that had most of the food I needed for the entire trail. For comfort I purchased about 2-3 days of food along the way (e.g. The ICA supermarket)...but I could have stretched my initial food supply to cover the entire trail if needed.
@@gislemark79 thanks for the clarification. Now I'm wondering why there was a Norwegian flag outside the ICA 🤔. One of the local Swedes described Kungsleden as 45 Swedish Miles in length, which equaled 450 kms. This was repeated by other Swedes along the trail.
Thank you for sharing. Great memories. GlenGoyne-Distillery was also one of my Highlights on the WHW. I prebooked a tour as I am also a Whisky-Nerd and wanted to be sure to get a tour. Slàinte Mhath
The currents when I was there in January were manageable. If the currents were stronger then we simply did drift dives & still managed to see a lot of great sights.
There was definitely less rain in Costa Rica. Both trails have great things about them in their own right. I definitely understood Español better than English with the Scottish accent 😜
The Lycian Way appears to be maintained much better than the Cammino 100 Torri, and accordingly it appears you are enjoying it much more . Happy Trails
Definitely!!! I think it also helps that there are far more hikers here as well. Plus, wild camping makes it more feasible for hikers of different speeds as well.
I used to speak Turkish fairly well 20+ years ago. I'm very rusty now but I was able to understand enough and convey my message. The goat herder didn't speak any English.
Very cool...Definitely a small world! Thanks for leaving some food for me 😜 I love that I can hike and eat as much as I want here...and it's far better than ramen 😋 I'm about 9 kms west of Villasimius...but should pass there shortly.
Hello! I will be hiking this in June. When did you hike it? We will be guided Urri Trek, so I hope they have water for us. I’m nervous about drinking from streams and rivers! I’m sure you had some kind of filter!
Hello, yes, I used a Sawyer water filter & also had purification tablets as a back up. There was no problem and I never got sick from the water. I hiked in January/February of 2022.
I hiked with Urrí as well. There's tap water every morning and night. We never drank from rivers or streams. Four of us still got a bit ill though, not sure which place had bad water. Or maybe something in the food! Don't let it deter you though, it's a magical experience.
Ironically I actually had plans to go to New Zealand in late January or early February but then there was a change of plans...but I'll be there for sure sometime in the future.
Those are what give us ground black pepper when they are dried. Some people like to eat them fresh like on your plate - definitely an acquired taste. If you ever get a chance to visit where pepper is grown don't miss it, fascinating.
Awesome! After two seasons on the PCT, April is probably the best time to start.. not too early where you'll run into heavy snow in the Sierras and not too late to burn in the SoCal desert while racing to get to Canada before the Cascade snows. Good luck & best wishes!
They are called pepper corns, probably from Cambodia. You should use google and do some research, you don’t even pronounce Hua Hin correctly and it’s not polite to call bar girls prostitutes. 🤔
