Where else in the world could you expect to see such a spectacle in such atrocious weather, but my own Bonnie Scotland? Did your wife enjoy the American naval contribution? And only one sailor's cap went overboard!
Scotland certainly has it all! And rain doesn’t stop the people from doing anything. Yes, we both appreciated the American contribution. That must have been so difficult without a hat.🙂 Seriously those guys were handling and tossing heavy weapons which are highly polished, in the pouring rain. A dangerous business indeed but they managed it, barely, without any disasters.
I really appreciate your encouraging comments. I didn't have much to work with on this one but I was so glad to get anything. The night started clear, you can see the stars, at some point it became dense fog, so I brought the camera in from the balcony. Next morning when I reviewed the footage, there it was. The huge iceberg nearby makes for an interesting touch.
Glad you enjoyed the ride! Sunset rides were $140 but full dark rides were $99 on special both for 10 minutes. The cab fare from the Bellagio to the chopper terminal was $40 round trip. So ride itself was not bad by Vegas standards.
This was likely my only visit since I live in Texas. Somehow the energy and enthusiasm of the performers made the weather okay. I thought if they could handle the weather unprotected I should be able to handle it sitting in the stands wearing a cheap plastic poncho. All credit goes to them.
I felt very privileged to experience such an amazing event. The weather was really awful and I kept telling myself to keep filming while the rain was running down into my shoes and my hands were getting numb with cold. The only camera I could use was the iPhone which is somewhat water resistant. The only dry place I could wipe the lens off was on my pants against the back of my calf muscle. The performers spirit despite the rain boosted the audience’s resilience to the weather.
My wife and I sailed on her around the world. The ports were mostly interesting, alas the ship (for nearly four months) was not. Not a complaint...purely observational!
Oh wow, that's awesome you did that but oh my goodness that's a long time on the same ship. This one at 21 days seemed plenty long enough for me on the same ship.
@@pjg54g Repetitious entertainment (same production shows on a 2/3 week cycle), similar with food and passengers! Setting off at the beginning of January, then passing through both summers and winters as the ship sailed its way across the equator back and forth. Approx. 600 of the 2000 passengers, did the full trip, the others joined for three week legs. Cost? Bearing in mind it was 2017...from memory, it was under $40,000 for two in a deluxe balcony.
Ha, can’t say I wasn’t disappointed in the weather, made things very difficult. But, it showed how amazing the crowd, event organizers and especially the performers are! Would I do it again under the same circumstances? Absolutely! It made a lifetime memory for sure. Pete
@@pjg54g Glad you enjoyed the spectacle. Are you disembarking in Holland, or, are you continuing onwards? Either way, I hope that the weather improves.
@@johnnierainey5761 we get off in ams tomorrow morning, head for airport then long KLM non stop to Austin where it was 105 deg yesterday. Thanks for asking and thank you!
Great to hear from you again. Yes we are southeast of Iceland now on Nieu Statendam heading for Torshaven then Stornoway Invergorden and Edinburgh. Been an amazing trip so far. Didn’t know I was seeing the Northern lights when I set the camera running but they were there next morning on review and we were so excited. Enjoying much cooler air than in Texas. Will work on the lights file more when I get home but wanted to put something out there. Yes, if it’s commonplace we do take things for granted.
cheap be itch ‘pantsuit polly’ Nicolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Won’t approve new ferries in order to give us a ridiculous $30 a month tax cut. Stupid National gov’t! Toss them out!!!!!!!!!!
A unique unforgettable experience for sure. Thanks for watching and glad it brought back some memories for you. Yes, real time was really slow and I was glad to speed it up. I need to slow it down in RU-vid to see if what we are saying is understandable ha ha.
So glad you enjoyed it. Portugal is a lovely country and I can’t wait until I return for a wonderful pastel de nata! Thank you for your comment it means a lot.
Thank you for your comment. By popular request I have included as much of the natural sound as possible. Sometimes the wind noise is really loud and unpleasant so I put music over it, but only when I have to.
Yes, take 2. When you step away from it for a while you look again and see a few things you missed. Hope you liked it. It is my last one from the New Zealand trip. Pete
I would have been even more impressed if one of the bungee jumper had pulled out a fish. I am with @conniemckown3871, no way would I jump off on a bit of elastic. Fantastic footage again, the air is so clean down there. Those hairpins would be nice on an empty road! Really must go again and do the bits we missed. Excellent editing Pete.
As if fishing isn’t random enough. You can ask for a “splash” jump and you might get lucky, but you better be quick. No way I would jump either, but fun to watch. On one of the hairpins the steering wheel hit the stop and I went wide, fortunately nothing was coming. I actually spent a lot of time learning and editing more, like lowering the music and increasing the ambient sounds for the lake. Also, after the ferry vid getting almost 90k views I feel I have to keep up a standard. 🙂 You could save about 50 hours flying and watch all my videos, this is the last of the NZ ones.
Thank you! Yes, a couple of my viewers said they wanted to hear real sounds not just music. Many Agree. I am about to upload another video about Queenstown New Zealand with a mix of music and sounds and would appreciate your comment on that. Pete
I'm rather surprised that so many vehicles are in an open deck, exposed to the salt spray. Why is that necessary.? Why can't the entirety be under cover.?
Early March, the day before was the most beautiful weather in Wellington and that afternoon was just beautiful in Blenheim. We were unlucky for the ferry crossing. Really unlucky!
Yes Pete, we are located in the foothills of the Himalayas with the heaviest rainfalls in the world. We are also blessed with an unimaginable beautiful nature and environment, very unlike other parts of India .. worth a visit when you have the time..
