Amazing video! Just got into Zeusing and this was exactly what I was looking for. I do have one question though, this is quite irrelvant, but how did you create the graphis of the units moving down the roads on the map(s) in this video?
Thanks! I'm glad the video helped, if you've got any other questions on Zeusing I'm happy to help :)! So for those graphics, I don't use Arma but my video editing software. I take a screenshot of the map, put it in the editing software, I have the icons as pngs, I place them above the map layer, and then I have them move on the timeline using the editing software etc It can be pretty time consuming, a 40 second segment (if it has a lot of Opfor units with the rifle animations etc) probably takes me between 1 to 2 hours to do (the ones in this video were pretty simple though)
@@TheMaxORyan Damn, didn't think it would be so time consuming! Thanks As for questions about Zeusing, are there any good videos on RU-vid that you know of that explain how to properly setup Zeus in the eden editor, to then use in a multi-player mission? As I am having trouble properly setting up a Zeus character/spawn to use as Zeus. Cheers!
@@kiwidude2007 I've got a really shoddy/poorly made tutorial I made in 2018, it's unlisted but here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hGEFULi0bUE.html (I cover how to create a Zeus around 5:50)
@@TheMaxORyan Again thanks, that video was amazing and has solved a few issues I had with the way I'd setup my Zeus (couldn't see player units, nor units or objects that had been 'spawned' in within the 3den Editor.) Thanks so much, both the above video and the one you linked have been great help, definitely relist the Eden Editor Training video as it was a great help, and surely will help others who get into similar prediciments as I. Again, thanks so much, you've been a great help!
I Loved The More Agressive opfor In This One Great As Always! Also 17:13 Was Hilarious, So Was The Whole Zoo Animal Escaping lol, 20:16 Was Also A Pearsonal Favorite, Probably My Favorite Op Yet!
If you look at chat around the 7 min mark you can see me attempt to rejoin after crashing, man sucked I couldn't play in this one since it seemed so fun.
3:18 Not me for once 🎉 19:22 is beautiful though, that was a great trick to get the Locust moving. 23:44 that new "Performed Medical" animation is neat. Also, thank you very much for finishing our run at the Locust for us. I don't know which covenant infantryman landed a lucky shot on the explosives, but it was great to respawn and hear that we somehow succeeded.
¡Lo lamento! Honestamente, no pensé que quienes no hablan inglés verían este video (también lo siento si este español es muy malo, voy a tener un sitio web para traducirlo)
You didn't go hard on them at all don't worry. They knew there was something behind them and chose to ignore it so sadly its their fault. I just think that they lack any kind of fear of dying, it feels like they just rush everything and have no structure, like pushing a whole complex with just two people while the rest of the team has pushed so far into the city that they might get cornered. I think what they can improve is structure between them to act as a group a bit slower. i don't know how zeus works in Reforger but i think u can give them more information about ennemy reinforcement like the counter attack by example, i don't know your objectives as a group aswell but if you aim for even a little bit of realism i also suggest that u make it more punishing for them to die ( like making them respawn far away or something else), and maybe take control of the AI to actuallly try and kill them when they are alone somewhere or just rush like mad mans. Im talking too much sorry and remember that all i said is a suggestion so you guys have fun 😀
The main mods used were Max_alien, USCM Mod, Pandora (the map), and Scion Conflict Also the voice in the Synth Interrogation is a Working Joe from Alien Isolation
I don't Zeus, I just make small missions in 3DEN for my buddy & I. Nevertheless, your advice on style and pace is quality stuff and this guide was well worth watching.
You can either use the Remote Controle Module, or use the keyboard shortcut of holding down CTRL and Left Clicking on the unit (that may be tied to Zeus Enhanced though)
2:59 It is just always me in these segments XD However, 7:30 has got to count as redemption right? (Firing an MG at the Driver and Gunner positions of the BTR)
very good and informative content. for chapter 6 - the show/hide module is also a great way of saving FPS if you want all of your units and objects to be pre-placed. great points about mission design and running the mission, too. this is often overlooked in these kinds of videos.
Heyo, this is among the first videos I'd recorded before I figured out what to set my bit-rate at & really nailed a style down, as such this video is kind of low quality compared to my more recent ones!

Now I see what you meant about the "More AI" before my OP. Courier did some real heavy lifting adding in the extra statics and having units between the OBJs. Now I just need to apply this and what I learnt from the first OP to the second OP...
This really made me think about the Zeusing I've been doing for the last many years, and I realize I've recently been upweighing realism over fun. Thanks for making this video ORyan, hoping I can make what I do for friends more fun now.
A tip to public zeuses, you need to give the players something, anything, to do while you make the mission. Give them a go kart race track or a shooting range, something to goof off without them turning spawn into a murder fest.
I wanted to say as someone who has recently joined an Arma reforger milsim unit, this stuff is correct. Nothing is worse then having to spend 40 minutes in a defence op on one point and then not engaging anything for the entire time (yes this actually happened, I was in a defence op where I didn't shoot shit at my point) and I brought this up to the GM who did apologise for that, as while it made story sense, it didn't make it any fun. but my favourite op was one where the gm through a mixture of purpose delay tactics (inpromtu defence objective because we were too fast) and just, good objective ideas in general with interesting obstacles we had to avoid, it was a blast. (wanted to add we didn't know it was impromptu defence, the place we were defending had literally just been cleared and then turned into a FOB, so it made sense for the sudden attack to delay us)
I get your pain, Zeuses/GMs going for realism over going for what makes a fun op is one of the biggest signs of a bad operation (that's not to say there can't be room room in the middle for both realism and fun, but fun has to be prioritized at least imo) I'm glad your GM apologized though and hopefully will have learned not to do that again, because 40 minutes sitting at a defensive location doing nothing sounds like hell
