Hey man, question. I had the same issue, drivers would go down, no issue. I replaced all the switches, they all light up, drivers still is the only one that goes up and down, the 3 do not. Regulators seem to be good, previous owner said they worked 6 years ago when parked. I tried to see if they were just stuck in the seal but so far not that. Any suggestions?
Did you empty the gearbox before replacing the seals guys? I just don't mine and fullt to the filler hole in gear box but the the car has sat its emptied all out.
@@ReallyIzzy i used penetrating oil 3 times before starting but it is the head of the bolt that is rusty and i think the sleeve's bushings are glued on the bolts by rust. I will cut the head of the bolts next time after i bought some and zip gun them out. Thanks for your reply. Its just not my day.
Real best way to get the new seals pressed in: Take a giant C clamp, one that can span about 18 inches, plus a piece of scrap plate steel, plus a ball joint press piece that's just a mm or 2 smaller in outer diameter than the new seals. Have a friend hold it perfectly centered over the seal after you pop it slightly in by hand, then position the steel plate over the other side's axle hole, and then tighten the C clamp with its solid side on the steel plate and its screw side on the ball joint tool. As long as you and your helper keep the ball joint tool perfectly centered on the seal, it goes in perfectly straight with so much less effort than using a hammer. Just a trick I figured out today after having some trouble getting my new seals in -- though I also would've had even MORE trouble if it weren't for your video!! P.s. rubber lubricant. Wurth rubber care is where its at
You mentioned at the end of your video “no reset like on the push”. What is the push you are talking about? I need to replace both batteries on my 2019 Compass and was told I couldn’t do it myself because it would mess up the computer. I’m hoping I can do what you did
@@tomkurish9697 My Porsche 911 has a reset procedure the Compass did not .. just make sure to remove ground wire 1st if in doubt you can go to a private garage and get this done ..
With the rasping tool, you may need to twist it at first to help get it in there, but after that you are supposed to push it in and out a few times without twisting it. The purpose is to clean up the hole and make it fit the plug better and provide a better seal.
Yes only black vinyl in the US .. there is another top with different contours available in Europe but I can't remember the name .. I want to say Weissman Top I believe .. Very rare never seen one in the US
Im looking to convert my rs2's to 3 piece and i was thinking about machining the oem barrels to mate a step lip, do you know where can i find the lips?
The kit was around $350 delivered but that was back in November not sure what its going for now.. Pedro asked me not to share price because every car is different but it was less than half of what the other "Known" shops quoted me..They are in NJ Call and they can give you the quote 973-856-6682 tell them Izzy referred you
Beautiful car. I just picked up a 2000 estoril blue with the beige interior. Got it on the low but unfortunately it has a blown head gasket and the lights are faded big time as well. All good always wanted one. Picked up a trashed e39 m5 with a running motor. Going to be swapping that powertrain into the clownshoe this year. If any funds left hopefully some bbs lms. Congrats on the ride!
