Im really interested in buying if not then making my own rope dart the one which rain from Ninja Assassin was using ( 1st clip) Please help
@acidblood13
@acidblood13 3 месяца назад
@@MayankSharma-zi8um You can buy rope darts from a few online suppliers. RopeDartAcademy is one of them. The chain and curved blade from Ninja Assassin is probably the worst type of rope dart to use as the chain will hurt your hands and the blade is too difficult to aim or control. You might also have luck on eBay or AliExpress. If you want to make a dart to practice with, a sock full of beans or a dog toy on a rope is a good place to start.

Ok, I have a core memory that I cannot find, and if anyone might be able to, it is people watching this video. I could have sworn it was Jackie Chan, especially with the improv of it as it is his style, but it was a fight scene where someone was using a paint can attached to a rope as a makeshift meteor hammer. Does anyone know where that is from?
@acidblood13
@acidblood13 4 месяца назад
Sorry, I have seen a paintbrush on a rope, but not a paint can.

As an Ropedart Player (big difference to a fighter) i would say Shanghai Noon gives most realistic view on how it its to fight with a Ropedart and aspecialy how mean it is to have chosen the wrong side of that weapon
@acidblood13
@acidblood13 4 месяца назад
I almost agree with you. I would go on to say that it shows some examples of how the rope dart can be practical in combat, but that sometimes Jackie Chan does techniques that are needlessly complex or require too much setup (just for the entertainment factor).

@@acidblood13 thats true for sure, but thats also a part of the unprediktable fighting style of ropedarts +when someone wraps the rope around himself again and again you have to ask yourself the whole time WTF is he planing and you can not figure out where the next strike come from because every wraping creates a own movement , a bit like loading a combo in a game😋 In the end its all movie stuff, like with the most weapons a reallife fight would be much less entertaining an gracius... The Kill Bill Movie would have been ended in that moment she got the first strike in the chest with the Meteorhammer

Practice the bundle by itself first. It's much harder when you do it on your wrist because you can only use one hand.

man..i've been shown a way to tie my rope dart but always end up with messy knots ahah ^^". Always makes me chuckle out of slight frustration/embrassement ( but that's part of the reason i keep practicing, i say frustration but i keep spinning the rope for hours even if ) . thanks for this tutorial ! i hope to achieve such a level one day thanks to you

The asian films during the 70s and 80s era is unmatched, I remember going to the local hood video store as a kid with family or who ever and their were always a huge section full of kung fu movies, like a hidden side full off asian kung fu type movies, anime included especially dragonball, it didnt matter, we got about 10-20 tapes everytime, watched the movies then believe we were ninjas and stuff too 😅 these movies actually taught you things

1) no actress, in any genre, can outshine michelle yeoh. both on screen and off, she is the absolute best of the best. 2) i always smile during the scene you posted from kill bill, when go go gets knocked off the table and the foley artist uses bowling pin sounds. i used to collect kung fu, wuxia, and sword films. at one time, i had 800 titles, and i had only made a dent in what is out there to be collected. i sure hope someone out there is preserving these priceless cinematic treasures.

The actor is Chiaki Kuriyama, not Michelle Yeoh. Also, the correct term is "actor". "Actor" is used with both sexes, as is the word "doctor" or "chiropractor". Imagine..."doctress" 🤢
@cheezyridr
@cheezyridr 9 месяцев назад
@@Nathaniel_The_Evil_One i never said the scene from kill bill had michelle yeoh. if you notice, my mention of michelle is after a designation of "1" and the part mentioning the scene from kill bill is under designation "2". lastly, your claim about the word actress is not supported by webster's dictionary. as they are , (and have long been) considered the authority on the meaning, spelling, and use of words in the english language, you may wish to make use of one before you correct someone in the future. maybe also work on reading comprehension. have a nice day 🙂

What's the length of the rope? Looking to attach a carabineer and use a grappling hook as well

The rope is usually the length of your armspan x 2. Or 1 x your armspan + distance from your outstretched hand (almost) to the ground

Idk why ppl do ropw dart in such a complex manner, so have an easier way and I think it would be way way way better in actual combat _why do they wrap it around there head and shoulder when they can use there hands and give a lot more power aim and speed. I more or less developed this idea on my own and is challenge any one who uses the complex methods bc while they’re swinging the rope dart around there neck I’ll can hit them several times and I imagine after the first hit there’s no way they’ll go about the rest of the move. Theyll be done right then 100%
@mmaj777

Wrapping it around makes it easier to get a lot of momentum for the dart
@acidblood13
@acidblood13 5 месяцев назад
The complex forms are only routines to learn how to control the dart in all kinds of unusual scenarios and with different parts of the body. The standard overhand or underhand swing is probably the most likely method for using the dart in combat. Many of the complicated techniques are tricky deceptive moves you can try if the basics aren't working, or if something goes wrong. Watch the Shaolin Rope Dart video with Shi Debiao, you see him throwing the dart into a target, basic-style, even after teaching complicated stuff. (There's also a method for using a sword and a rope dart at the same time, definitely useful to be able to use other body parts then.)

My rope dart is kinda dangerous as I used a discarded knife, and I hope to god I don't accidentally cut myself, but I designed my rope dart to be modular meaning that I can switch out to a less lethal blunt dart anytime.

I recommend 3/16 boat or dingy rope. It’s perfect because it’s stronger and lighter than a thin chain and when dangling even a very sharp knife at full swing won’t slice it A lot more friction and rope burns but it’ll last years without tearing or wearing out You can climb with it and hang somebody with it Don’t use cotton linen rope because it’ll break on you and your weapon could smash something or hurt someone !
@mightychris2112
@mightychris2112 2 года назад
Weight and balance is the only factor to consider when making your own soft weapon A chain is usually not very good because it will collapse and bind itself and it’s usually too heavy to make an effective tail unless your swinging something really heavy Only a light chain with very small welded links will work Kill bill is all Hollywood props no real weapons and although GoGo is cute her moves aren’t very complicated But she’s still cute
