I've known for years that most actors-especially men-were lucky if they even have a high school diploma. Many are drop-outs. Even among the very few who did manage to get a college degree, they only achieved a B.A in which they studied acting and theatre. Gerard Butler is one of the very few who has an impressive college degree in Law.
Education is another entity forced upon us. I have multiple graduate degrees but have had supervisors with no degree at ALL. I still have more education than those who are in positions higher than my own. I have worked with other people who were licensed that STILL didn't know their job, but because they had a license they were considered better than a person with the exact same education but no license. Society looks a credentials over quality of work. A degree gives you some knowledge in that subject but doesn't qualify you to do a job, you still must have experience. Many people have experience but aren't considered qualified because they lack the degree. Many have the degree but are considered unqualified because they lack the experience. It's all contradictory and I know because every day I am dealing with the complaints about it and other things. It's more about who you know than what you know or the degree you have. I see it EVERY single day. The worst is seeing people in supervisory positions who aren't qualified and doesn't know how to lead or seeing a person with no passion for what they do, to them it's only about a paycheck. I'm all for education, but if it's forced upon us, THEN IT SHOULD MATTER when it comes to hiring. How can you require so much from MOST federal employees YET you have people in very high positions who don't have degrees? Im talking, the credentials they ask for in some government jobs versus positions from the White House, Congress, etc., is mind blowing. The inequality in requirements and pay is completely UNFAIR AND TOTALLY WRONG! Yet, no one ever seems to care.
