It`s a hard song to sing......i don`t know if she did justice to this complicate song, but i love it the way she guides this haunting song? However it is a great song....full of emotions and heartache as in real life and in an affair that goes in another direction.

man i can't stop singing this around the house! Maude has a sublime way of bringing out the melody of the original instead if ruining the tune like 40s singers did. so happy i discovered her!

I fell in love with this song when i heard Maude cover it. Why did the lame 40s versions leave out the intro verse? Its the best bit!!! This made me hunt around for Helen Morgan's 1920s version.

I still can't believe that this song was reduced to a "beatnik-rap" scene in the motion picture of Flower Drum Song, instead of giving Mr. Kenny a cameo and letting him belt this out on screen.
