Hell, no. Why not try it out for yourself. This guy didn’t like it that much but a lot of people consider it. One of the best of kings works and one of the best books of all time. It’s definitely in my top five. It’s like 800 pages and I breezed through it in a few days because I couldn’t stop reading it.
Im glad i read it but im never reading it again and it was hard to get through but I can see why people love it and how people may think it's bad or meh.
I have finished the whole series, it is soo good. I know it sounds a long way off but the ending of the whole series is very satisfying. Following Fitz's story over many years is great. Cheers!
This is the first time I watch you channel so I don't mind if you haven't posted awhile Edit: please review Sinuhe the Egyptian written by Mika Waltari
"I thought the book was very well placed...it was not a slogged at all" - Joseph Hirning, 2022 Well people, we have found the Roger Ebert of book reviews.
This is my favorite Stephen King book, and it's the only book I actually return to and re-read. More impressive when you realize it was only his second novel. He made vampires so genuinely scary!
I have never read this book but I agree on some of the older books do not hold up as much over time. When I read 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 back to back, had to take a break for a while haha. Too dark and depressing. I did like War of the Worlds.
I agree with you that it’s terrible that these people are getting death threats even though I believe they are exaggerating on exactly how many but the thing is she’s really not an interesting character and I wish she could’ve been written better it’s not her fault but I believe Its pathetic to call everyone who doesn’t like a particular character racist. I haven’t seen too many as people call them woke things with the Kenobi series but with many other Disney films such as the Sequels and other Tv shows it’s naive to not notice a type of agenda that goes along with these films which are trying to sexualize children and promote sexual activity to them I’m not saying these have anything to really do with Star Wars at the moment but their other films such as The Little Princess which was just released to Disney + promotes a gender ideology that children are sexual from birth these came from Alfred Kinsey and John Money who would perform sexual torture on children. So it is obvious Disney is supporting and trying to share these ideas through their films. That is what makes people furious at Disney and films they make such as their Star Wars Films. I also noticed that you talk about reality but have a blind eye to it.
It has nothing to do with not being able to tolerate anything new but when these characters are poorly written and advocating for these ideologies that becomes a problem. It has more to do with their ability as an actor then their sex or race. Denzel Washington is black but greatly loved by the people you call racist, along with Gina Carino who is a women but was kicked out of Star Wars because of her beliefs. It has nothing to do with Race or Sex but instead their ability and ideological beliefs. People who are great actors and stray away from virtue signaling, are more loved then people such as Moses and other actors you idolize.
I don't really give a shit about agendas. For me, race has nothing to do with how a character acts. For me, quality storytelling comes before political views and agendas. I really don't have an issue with The character. Disney is not ruining Star wars. The Fans just want to blame someone for not liking it. The Fans blamed George Lucas for the Prequels to Disney. When Disney made their sequel trilogy, it got backlash. Now I'm not blaming all the fans, just the really toxic fans. Honestly, they're impossible to please, and I get real tired of "Disney ruined star wars". It really irritating. I believe that if you want representation, there should be depth and character. I watch movies and read books to escape reality, not engage with agendas, because the way I see it, white men are pissed because female characters and black characters are getting lead roles. So? I don't give two fucks. I care if the character is treated with respect and integrity. I don't want politics in my stories. Period. Personally, I care about originality in my stories, something that is rare because the market is being saturated. If you want another channel backing my claims, check out Adam does movies. An honest RU-vidr who doesn't care about political agendas but cares about the quality of the story. Anyway, have a good day and take care.
@@dylantornquist8371 I agree that writing character well is the most important. I think people should be able to express their views without being forced to be quiet. I don't idolize Moses; I feel sorry that these racist idiots online are harassing her.
@@josephhirning2642 I can tell you for certain that nobody cares about her race and sex as much as you think, you can’t blame everything on that. The whole of the Kenobi show as the critics say is not original or interesting and it’s not because they hate a particular characters race. Your problem is as you say, you escape reality in books and movies that aren’t real. You say critics blame a certain person such as Lucas or Disney but you in turn blame Them for not enjoying it and turn to words such as race that have really nothing to do with this conversation.
@@josephhirning2642 I’m Also not saying they should be forced to be quiet it is a free country after all but don’t be surprised when there is backlash from fans who would rather watch the story as that is why they decided to watch it. I don’t believe people should be forced to listen to different beliefs then be forced to agree with it all the time
My first Stephen King book was The Shining which we had for a while just never actually got around to reading it until just a few years ago, that would also be my favorite book of his but Fire starter, Mr Mercedes and the Stand were pretty good
@@josephhirning2642 well while watching it it seems like the film hates the actual Batman character, they never explain why he’s doing what he’s doing, also that it’s kinda of a defund the police attitude where now instead of what the Batman character has always been now he apparently can’t actually fight criminals anymore at the end which makes no sense whatsoever and he thinks that doing that makes him just like them. They make it seem like being Batman is bad and that he should be more of a protecter. The character of Batman was originally that he was incorruptible unlike the police in his city and that he could go after criminals that go after citizens. But this movie has to for some reason show him some error in his ways while all I want to do is see actual Batman. if you ignore some of that and actually watch the movie I would say yea, it’s a good movie if you’re just going to watch a movie.
