I was 18 years old when this concert took place. Loved their music then and still love it today. The original lineup is the best rendition there ever was and ever will be. GNFNR FOREVER!

This show is incredible. Really captures the energy of the time and them at their full power. Kind of a shame that they lost some of their grit and power once they kicked Adler out. They were never quite the same.

What can you say it was the Ritz back then. They didn’t have a good lighting designer, or know the songs, slash’s solos were not focused on.. not even at the end with Rocket Queen
Remember my dad saying, "Son, you might listen to this music now at 19, but when you get older, you'll change your desire for music." Well, just turned 55, and here I am in 2024 listening to one of Rocks' greatest bands and feel 19 again. Rock n roll forever.
Both of my parents said that I would outgrow this "heavy metal" phase. I'm 51 and still jamming. Matter of fact I have taken both of my sons to multiple Metallica concerts.
Steven looked so good here & he really was in his prime here & it's so sad the heroin fkd him up for so long. I play drums, not good but I have fun, i was right into his drumming & really appreciate the contributions he made to the GNR band & still to this day believe that this is the band truly at their peak collectively before they all pretty much went to crap & here at their Raw & unapologetic best
Im back again reliving the memories of a wild night in 🇦🇺 on new years eve. They had to play knocking on heaven's door after the ads at the end bc of some legalities as to the rights or something. Next album has a different version
I'm 49, I was waiting at the local Sundry store when this album was released ( I bought the cassette). I was on my Mongoose bmx, boombox on my shoulder, swim trunks on, and headed to the public pool where all the kids I know were hanging out. Threw my towel down, cranked the boom box, and by the time side A was done every good-looking beach blonde girl there was hanging out. I felt like the king that day, nope actually I felt like a rock star! I was 14. Good times.... I played that tape so much it broke.
Was there and by far the best GnR concert I’ve seen. Second best was in May of 88 at Giants Stadium. GnR/Deep Purple/Aerosmith triple bill. If I remember correctly the video for Paradise City was filmed at that show.
Thank you so much for uploading! I must have watched this 1000 times as a kid, so much so that the the VHS tape was worn out! Been looking for a copy for ages without the bleeps, even wrote to MTV about 10 years ago asking, no reply obvs :D
