1) The flocked heads chipping from a lead weight hitting them in the head is not a "Con" it's called being careless. 2) You compared a Dakota decoy to freakin' Game Winner decoy... C'mon man. There is no comparison. "We noticed with the Dakotas there was still a light clacking noise from the water hitting the bottom of the decoy. It just doesn't sound realistic. It's not as bad as if you're hunting over Game Winner decoys where its literally like a thud". So you're saying that a "thud" sounds more realistic than "clacking"? What decoy doesn't make a noise when water slaps the bottom side of it? If the ducks are close enough to hear the water slapping the bottom of your decoys, y'all better be shootin' holes in their behind!
when you store them in slotted decoy bags, and the minimal room the weight has to move can carry enough velocity to chip the head, its a con. No offense bud, but you don't know how we take care of our things. It's quite irrational of you to assume our measures. In high wind days, that "thud" or "clacking" noise carries with the wind, meaning it is not realistic.
some of the first mallard decoys we got were avian x (6 years ago), and they're still in circulations for use with us. we also throw fully flocked black ducks by them and they held up great. we are actually planning on selling our dakotas and buying 2 dozen avain x mallards. we are also going to be doing a decoy video explaining the pros and cons of each decoy brand that we have found.
