I'll be taking a 2 door JL sport s, there next year. This was a perfect video to gauge what a 2 door can do vs a 4 door in terms of a flipping over rate lol. Do you ever feel limited by the shorter wheel base?
I wouldn't say limited. There are trade offs for both the 2 door and 4 door. The break over angle of the 2 door is very nice and it can squeeze through stuff that is difficult in 4 door. Steeper climbs are definitely more stable in a 4 door. Its all compromises. if I was going to buy a new one today, and space for kids and gear wasn't an issue, I'd get a 2 door, I thought they were more fun.
Guess u missed the part where the spotter ran down to assist him 🤷 also, this wasn't a pre planned group, no one knew each other. most all the people here just happened to run into each other on the trail and it just organically became a group as the trail progressed. That being said, alot of these individuals opted to not be spotted on alot of the obstacles, it is what it is.
78a67h yea, im sure a shot from the bottom would show how steep this hill climb really is, plenty of roll overs have happened on it and a recovery from the bottom of this spot would suck really bad. I just happened to be in another jeep and saw people doing this obstacle and decided to watch and film.
With that lift it's actually more likely to roll over. I have a mostly stock trooper and regularly off road it and that climb looked potentially troublesome. The solid rock isn't the problem as you must know... lots of grip there... but the angles subtly get you in trouble. There's not even a horizon to see for scale and balance.
+prorockjk thanks brotha! it's a Axial scx10.2 kit, $325 for the kit, then add electronics. I spent quite a bit on the electronics, there are much cheaper routes for sure. I made most of the scale accessories out of stuff I had laying around the house lol. it's a work in progress for sure!
briansfell thanks man, we are very fortunate to have such an awesome crawl spot within a reasonable distance:) I've heard of a few other spots near me, I couldn't imagine they could be better than this one, but I'm going to check them out soon.
+Alan Zapanta he is a honestly one of the nicest guys I've wheeled with and very respectful of even the most novice of offroaders. if you have the opportunity to go on one of his runs, I highly recommend doing so, you'll be in good hands and have a great time. I know he has a lot of haters around, but I'm pretty sure none of them have ever met him in person.
Ok that makes a little more sense, I didn't realize till now the rims are big as well. . If you like that cool. If not and your not going to go bigger on tires go with 15" rims, your tire flexes and grabs a lot better. Nice Rig.
they are the metric equivalent to 33's on 18" stock wheels. we ran them at 15psi just to be safe, especially while in canyon lands, as we where by ourselves.
