Interesting thought, I think this has been pondered in the past as well, but it's interesting to think about at very least. The metal door is programmed to only open when the player moves into a trigger in the final room AND the enemy placed in there (at least on Easy) is set to completely idle and even if you activate him somehow he will need to SEE YOU before he decides to shoot at the door....I've tested this a little with noclip and he can indeed shoot it open, but the metal door still remains. We would definitely have to find a brand new exploit that allows us to either peek through the wall or end up clipping through. The original Quake 1 maps were made VERY STRICTLY to avoid out-of-bounds clipping, I am assuming they were aware of limits and restricted angles and such when doing the original maps on purpose. BUT I would also never say never, for all we know there's a way to clip through doors or corners or something that we just haven't thought of, even if it's unlikely.

The door (with the gears/mechanism in the middle of it) that you see from the water area is triggered to open only when a player enters the final room with the slipgate. The trigger is at the end of the ramp going upwards. The "shootable" secret door is a different one behind it. You can see that it's two different doors at 06:00 in your video. Even if making an enemy shooting the secret door was possible, the "gears" door can be opened only by a player passing and invisible trigger when entering the final room from the ramp.
@@DEKOproducties The .MAP sources for all the Quake levels were released by John Romero in 2006, they can be checked out in a level editor. But in game you can use noclip and notarget and check it yourself that this "gears" door opens only when player crosses entrance to the final room from the upwards ramp.
@@DEKOproducties There are mods that can show you the invisible triggers, plus in the 25 years this game has been out, no way ever has been found to clip through a wall.
@@DEKOproducties Why would that one door be clippable if everything else in the game is not? Thousands (not exagerating here) of people have tried for two and a half decades. We have access to the source code and we can check the map files. There is nothing there to find. You cannot do what you are expecting.
