As a part of ASG Recycling Machinery, this channel is dedicated to videos displaying equipment used in our PET bottle washing line including wet plastic granulators, trommel, air classifier, sink/float separation tank, hot washer, friction washer, dewatering machine, thermal dryer, metal detectors, and more.
ASG Recycling Machinery is a professional manufacturer of high quality plastic recycling machinery in China. We offer individual pieces of machinery as well as entire recycling plant solutions such as PE film washing lines, PET bottle washing lines, as well as entire municipal waste recovery facilities.
What are people doing to get rid of the sediment that sinks? Yes, there is a screw or conveyor at the bottom of the tank to remove the sinking contaminants that are large, such as PET or PVC, but what about the dirt and metal dust from shredding tooling? The stuff builds up down there and eventually prevents the larger material from reaching the discharge screw/conveyor. Where I work the bottom of our discharge screw had a 3" pipe, and we used to use ball valves to dump every so often. The abrasive nature of the sand/glass/metal wore them out, so they would eventually start leaking so bad that the sediment would pack in like concrete while the water flowed past, eventually requiring one to poke at it and make a huge mess of foul water all over the floor. Then we switched to a 4" pipe and air-actuated gate valves like you'd find on an RV. The cost to get an industrial-grade one is very prohibitive, and we'd need two. Like employee salary type of money. Now the gate valves leak because they're cheap and have soft rubber seals inside. I was thinking of changing the conveyors over to a rope-and-disc type of system that would take everything up a tube and into a vibratory screener, but with the condition of the material we shred, glass, sand, metal, I don't think the discs and tube liner would last a week.
Perhaps a version can be made to enter into a scraping cleaning mode. It can push out nails, sediment and other metals, and heavy plastics. Use as much anodized aluminum in it's construction as possible. Good material hardness and corrosion resistance too! Install over dripping catcher area for easy cleaning. Simplicity of design is key. Cost is key.
