Anyone else listening to this all time classic in 2024? Black Betty was originally written way back when and was a negro song from the South. [Apologies I forget the exact term for that kind of song - a 'dirge'?] Sydney radio disc jockey Doug Mulray [Uncle Doug] found an original recording. It was sung really really slow at a twentieth speed than the rock version. Much prefer Ram Jam's version 😁 Love it!
