I'm Anthony Best... I play guitar, and make some vidoes when I find new gear that I like. I like big reverbs and ambient music and then on the complete opposite side I love really heavy breakdowns and beatdown riffs. I do this for fun, and you should be having fun playing guitar too. Lets take this journey together.

5 years later are you still using the vertex boost? I loved mine but the 1/8” TRS connect to connect volume pedal continually broke. Frustrating for such a great boost. I had the new smaller one.
The old pre’s are sloppy on the transient attack and fuzzy in the mids. The JJ’s, that combo you’re using, especially the Frame Grid for V1 sound HEAPS TIGHTER and has way more articulation on the pick attack, and the mids are heaps more growly! And you have more dynamics in your sound. Back off your gain a notch or two and you will increase the aggression like a Thrash Metal attack
I bought the Archon V2 is very dark if you use the bright switch and up the treble & presence to taste it opens up sounds very good - also have found if you run the volume/gain on (ch 2) at about 3 then turn up the master (power section) it has a great classic rock vibe and is very guitar volume sensitive roll off the voulume it cleans up real nice great amp -
I have two private stocks .. $15999 and $17125 retail both and two Core. Are the private stock way better? No… are they beautiful works of art that inspire me to play? Absolutely.
Is it possible to auto shift a whammy using JUST a Boss ES-5, like Muse's Map of The Problematique, or not? Trying to get my head around all this, and whether if you program multiple patch midi functions on the same pedals for the same pedal / preset... it would cycle through them. I don't think Map of The Problematique would be possible without a computer, but I'm trying something that just needs 4 bars of auto pitch shifting... is it even possible to use the ES5 to control a digitech whammy like that? Thanks for the great content!
I just bought my first PRS recently. Semi Hollow Special 10 top. It is the most expensive guitar I own, and I traded two guitars to get it. Just like you, I can’t put it down. When I’m not playing it, I’m staring at it. I can’t imagine what a Private Sock would be like. Down the road, I will absolutely get a PS. You can’t put a price on something that is an extension of yourself, and makes you happy. Great video. Your guitar is gorgeous.
Just paid $14000 (they were asking $15999) for an amazing quilt top 594 with a Piezo ... it makes my 10 top "special" feel so ordinary, and that's saying a lot as that's a $5600 guitar itself.
I would never spend that much money on these pedals I have My Friedman (Joyo Uzi) G3 (Dark Flame) Revv G4 ( DemonFx R4), TS9808 also by DemonFx and Precision Drive is my Joyo Argos, Harley Benton GPA 100, for the power stage, and Guptech Vej 5 is the Diezel Clone, Vej6 Fission Dr. Orange Rockerverb tone clone and a LYR Rock 3 channel rip off. And a lot more under 600 bucks. Love it or hate it, pedals, sims, plug ins, digital effects, amps and Guitars these days are just amazing! Snobs back off!
I bought the OX Stomp and it sounds just awsome with all of my amps (1987x,DSL50 etc). I don't need hundreds of fizzy IRs like in my Torpedo. The 2 mic/room mic blend feature is just killer!
Was there any update on the situation with the humbucker rings? Just got myself this guitar the other day and plan on changing all the black to cream white too
I am always afraid to leave my guitar out on a hanger or leave it out on display and so I wanted to know if you have any experience with your purple fading from being in the light or getting hit by sunshine or if you have any issues with tuning stability or neck warpage anything like that from being exposed I play my stuff every day but I keep it in a case because I’m afraid of that stuff. Would you please let me know your experiences?
Great video! I’m wondering if you could explain how you wire up the midi from all of the strymons to the ES5? I’m building a board right now that’s very similar to yours. Sorry, I’m very new to MIDI. Thanks!
Price does not equate value. Value/worth is determined by the consumer. Price/Monetary value is a limitation, in that "I have X amount of dollars so I can afford to spend X amount of dollars".
The only thing I want to change on mine are the tuners, so thanks for this video, it's a great help. Have you ever considered putting a coil splitter on so you can get a singe coil effect on the pickups?
Thanks! How do you control the tempo? Can I use ES-5 to the tap tempo? Or Put timeline as the 1st MIDI IN, then strymon, then bigsky (I have the same 3) and tap timeline, so strymon has the same tempo? Thanks.
Almost pulled the trigger on this thing. Thank you for showing this. I notice none of the other videos on this thing are anywhere near high gain. Just same ol low gain telecaster stuff on every single other video. Makes me think thats why they only went with the low gain stuff, high gain does not sound worth the $1,000+ price tag
I would love to know how difference that quality of wood makes in the sound. Although I can’t afford one, I would absolutely buy one. It would be a 1 and only that would be mine.
That is pretty beast. Maybe a tad bit complicated but fundamentally awesome... I am constantly GASing for this stuff but at the same time having difficulty finding time to actually get my money's worth out of all the toys I already have! Part of me wants a complex setup, another part of me wants something simpler. But yes, that board does NOT suck.
How you liking the guitar ? A shop nearby has one and it always makes me look to see if they still have it ! Looks like such a killer guitar . Any flaws or fit issues ? The relic top looks amazing!
i have the 5150 iii org. marshall duel super lead 100, an archon 50 .and boost .and in the studio recording complex thic death metal ..love the archon50
I can’t figure how to hook up my big sky to midi. I have my ES-5 out to my Tonex in. Now, what do I hook up my big sky to? I watched videos but none help! I was told to Tonex out to big sky in. Nothing happens.
This thing SUCKS!!! Be warned that it only connects to your computer with wifi and the wifi drops constantly if it works at all. There is no usb cable to connect to this device. At this price you would expect more thoughtful engineering and utility. The customer service at Universal Audio is non-existent. Don't waste your money.
Hi thanks for this, i looked into if i could use a torpedo live load box years ago to profile on the Kemper but i couldn't work out the signal chain or if it was safe. what is the signal chain i'd like to give it a go.
My problem is this: I run an AxeFx in stereo to a stereo matrix poweramp then into a left cab and a right cab. I’m trying to figure out how to switch from the AxeFx/matrix rig to a fryette stereo poweramp at the click of a switch but using the same two cabs left and right. Most switchers I have been checking out can’t take in two channels from a stereo poweramp nor split out to the two separate L/R cabs while playing through either poweramp! Anything I should be checking out??
Doing some research before purchasing some locking tuners. You mentioned you didnt change the bushings. Some forums talk about having to ream a bit. When you replaced the tuners without replacing the bushings, i assume you didnt have to make any adjustments? Just screw em in n good to go ?
