I'm disappointed this doesn't show what to do if we don't change colors. I'm after the first round, a slip stitch puts me on the far side and no corner. The rest of it is perfect with the best foundation, but I have absolutely no clue how to start new rounds WITHOUT starting in a corner.
Aloha, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have an old Christmas stocking my mother gifted to me in the earlier 80's. My niece saw it and asked if I could make her one. I made the granny squares, but was not familiar with the slip stitch method the woman used. I finally found your You Tube tutorial and I am so grateful to you for sharing this method. I am using it now to close the two stockings I made. You are a really good teacher and very patient. Taking the time to show how to make the stitch and how to connect the square. I am very grateful. Ohhhh! I LOVE this scarf. 🧣 I haven’t been in the mood to knit or crochet since last winter because there is so much yard and housework to do but I am going to start the scarf for a good friend and once the snow flies, no more outside work and I will be free to enjoy my hobbies again. Thank you for the good video instructions and the beautiful scarf and hat. I am a member of your website! 🎉
So glad you love it and I hope you enjoy making them! I know what you mean - so hard to stay inside with all the lovely outdoors stuff to do in good weather! Thank you so much for your support 💕🌸
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-24EJHxwNPcY.htmlsi=1watO7Cle6lrjcUy You are so amazing, I actually learned from you and I made a Greek version for my Mom and gave you credit in description! ❤❤❤❤❤
I have to watch this again , because it’s a bit confusing for me as a beginner. Just have to watch this till I get. I’m a visual learner so I have to crochet alongside with the tutor. Thank you 🙏 😊
Sure! You can stop at the end of any round - just go until you have the size you wish for your square. Fasten off after the hdc join into the ch-3 at the end of any round. I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy making it! Thanks for watching 🌸💕
Love the pattern and your tutorial. Bought the perfect yarn and got started. Like others I am getting some cupping and worse the granny square skew. As far as the cupping I am making sure that I am making the dc tall so they dont pull and that doesn't seem to help. If anyone has made this blanket and has some advice I would appreciate it. I really want to continue but if I cannot fix these issues I will have to frog.
I am sorry you are having issues with cupping on the blanket! I wonder if you could try going up to a larger size hook and see if that looser tension helps. Let me know!
A big thank you for this pattern. I've frogged so many after giving up on complicated patterns. This one is not only simple but gorgeous! Perfect for an outdoor Autumn wedding in Vermont.
Happy to help! I recommend a cotton yarn for pot holders as acrylic can scorch under heat. However, some people have lots of acrylic on hand and don't mind replacing them frequently. In fact, my aunt loves making pot holders and uses acrylic for hers and just makes more when they need to be replaced. I hope that helps!
W👀W! Pretty cool pattern...could look very "swirly" with the right color changes...I can see red and green (and maybe white) for Christmas hats...and pompom on top. 🥰 Charities are asking for cold weather makes for the Winter season...this is definitely going into my pattern library for watchman's hats. I have some yak, alpaca and baby camel yarn which is very warm and with the 3 different colors (all in the tan/brown shades) would make an interesting hat. Thanks for the tutorial. 🤗
I'm so glad I went on Facebook later tonight and found this❤ yeah it's beautiful! Thank you for sharing your skills...A new scarf for church ❤ Stay blessed
Great pattern 😍 Added to my autumn project list (need to finish a blanket I'm making and my Halloween projects x2). Will be a great gift. Simple execution but very stylish result. Will look different depending on yarn and colourway choices. Can't wait for the matching hat ❤❤❤ TYFS
I am working on this lovely pattern now and my corners are bowing in. I feel like all my other projects have 2 clusters in the corners. (For instance 3 dbl, chain 2, 3 dbl). Will this work itself out?
How far along are you in the pattern? I feel like this should resolve after awhile. Yes, it is correct that typically you would see more stitches in a corner. However, since the second round isn't growing as you would typically have with rounds of double crochet - the second round is only growing by the height of a single crochet stitch, by having the 3 stitches of sc in that round should help that as it grows. I hope that helps!
I crochet blankets for my local Linus project group and am always looking for non-lacy blanket patterns to try. This looks perfect, can you tell me if this pattern is considered quick/fast work and if it is considered a yarn hog (uses a lot of yarn for length of work)? I look forward to the rectangle pattern once you post it. 😊🧶
So glad you like it! I would say this pattern is going to grow a little slower than a typical double crochet blanket because you are skipping stitches and then coming back to work the next round into those stitches which will only grow the round by the height of a sc. I wouldn't classify this stitch a real yarn hog like a puff or popcorn stitch blanket but would use a bit more yarn than a double crochet blanket. I hope that helps!
I am going to try making this because I have some beautiful yarn that will look amazing from this pattern. Your instructions is what's going to make it possible for me to accomplish it. God bless you for your talent and thank you for sharing it with the general public 😊❤🎉
