I cried when her dad came out & saw her. What a blessing to have your parents there on your big day. Mine will be watching from heaven hopefully as proud & happy as your dad. So beautiful! May God bless & cover your union in Jesus name!

Really useful video - thanks. Notes for anyone from the UK/EU - the steps up to 1.26 are the same but after that you don't need to remove the bolts and the panel above the number plate is welded in. You undo the three 10mm bolts that hold on the rear wiper mechanism which then gives you room through the camera assembly. Push the metal clips with a flathead to allow you to remove the assembly from the outside and then push the new one in (from outside) before reversing the steps and connecting into the loom. Also, the clips that hold the panels on are different and don't break!

The video by-passed the removal of the panel that houses the camera. I've removed all 7 of the nuts and broken off many of the clips but the panel still seems firmly in place. I'm afraid to 'yank' for fear of breaking the panel. Anybody got any suggestions at this point? I've toyed with using a number of cedar shims to work my way around the panel and hopefully force it off evenly.
@aboyFinn
@aboyFinn 2 года назад
Success. I did use the shims to hold whatever gains I made as I pried the covering panel free. There were two clips that are at either side of the panel, very close to the outside bolts. They are not visible from inside the hatch and they held on til the end. Eventually got one side to let go and that gave me enough room to pull the panel back so that I could clean the area, install the new camera and install the recommended replacement clips. Tested the camera and is good. The covering panel reassembled pretty easily and we're back in business. Thanks to the original author and all of those that offered their insights and experience.

@@ondroed69 It's been a few months now but I believe that they were all there just to secure the panel, not anything else. The nuts were relatively easy to find including the two that are at either side, near the pneumatic struts. Get a flashlight and have a good look 'inside' the cavity on the tailgate; you will find them. They are in awkward spots but all were reachable with a socket driver.

I've got the plastic panels off and am now stumped...I don't even see the camera connection in my 2016 Kia Sorento SXL - could it be that your video instructions are not for an SXL model?
@jej3films
@jej3films 2 года назад
Hmm... it should be the same, or at the very least very similar. Can you see the back of the camera when you pull the plastic panel off of the exterior? The camera should be connected to the exterior panel when you pry it off.

@@jej3films I get up to 1:17 in the video -- have that all done (tailgate panel and trim removed) and I am still perplexed - I don't see 7 10MM nuts -- if I could send a picture of the trunk gate open to you maybe you could point those out??

May I ask if you bought the replacement camera from Kia? They want CDN $ 691 for just the camera.
@scottmarkham8265
@scottmarkham8265 2 года назад
Couple items here to add as I just did this camera replacement with this video as a guide. It lacks the following information: 1) I would not advise using silicone. The original camera was not surrounded with silicone and I believe this is the case because any water that gets in behind the body panel can be allowed to drain out around the camera opening. 2) The thin panel that houses the camera must be yanked off hard once the 7 nuts have been removed from their studs. This will result in the body clips breaking and that's why the author of this video included them in the video, because you will need to have replacements on hand. 3) Any round openings in the camera body panel are for the slip in studs, and any square openings are for the clips. The studs can fall out but if you follow this rule you will know where to put them back in. 4) Might want to have some of the pointy, barbed body panel pins on hand as well as they rarely go back in well after they are used. 5) Finally check inside the metal body frame panel for any bits of broken plastic that exploded when you pulled the camera body panel off. That's if you're like me and you hate to hear things rattling going down the road. Thanks for the video. It was helpful, and I hope my additional information is helpful as well.

Cant get the exterior panel off, worried I might break something. Wish you would have shown that.
@jej3films
@jej3films 2 года назад
I ended up breaking all of the clips holding the exterior panel on. Bought replacement clips off of Amazon as backup, but went to the Kia dealer to pick up some for that day. When I replaced it the 2nd time, I cracked the exterior panel at the top center, but glued and siliconed the crack from the inside before putting it back on.

I'm new to Cinestyle. I've been shooting my videos in RAW format on my Canon 70D. Do I change my picture profile to Cinestyle instead of Raw and switch to jPeg from now on and use Raw for shooting stills?

Man I look at the video and it's cool but the color isn't, I have the 35mm 1.4 lense and it's wonderful I think you need to get a full frame camera in order to get the better colors out of your pictures! That 80d is not very good with that crop sensor.

You just need to commit and accept the fact that you need to pull really hard and you’re going to bust all 13 of those plastic clips, I did not replace them they didn’t seem necessary. The seven nuts and bolts hold the plastic piece on just fine. I think they’re mainly just there for assembly purposes.

Video was cool but the color was not vivid at all, kinda dull looking must be the 80ds crop sensor maybe a full frame camera sensor gives out better color.
