She sounds nice. I was just watching your video about the Wassell Vape Ignition you installed on one of your bikes. I was wondering if there was a right-side up as far as positioning the black stator thing...or does it not matter as long as rotor underneath is positioned correctly and you have room for adjustments? I'm assuming yours worked ok the way you had it mounted in your video. I'm installing mine this weekend...I want to make sure I do it right. : )
Actually it DOES matter... my mistake. The mark on the rotor has to align with the C mark on the black stator when you have the crank in the 38o BTDC position. You can see it in the photo I gave the link for above. C means clockwise rotating engine. A is the mark for an anticlockwise rotatin engine eg Nortons (I think)
I was just reading an old post of yours on the Triumph forum about the Vape electronic ignition. You said you installed it wrong the first time (it was too advanced) but I wasn't clear what you had done incorrectly. I've got one for my 64 TR6 that I'm going to install soon. I'd like to make sure I don't make the same mistake. : ) You mention you had some info about it in a blog post. Where do I find your blog? Thanks.
Hiya, I think it was because I used the static timing tool and put it in the TDC slot not the advance slot on the flywheel. Its about 8 years ago now so Im not exactly sure! tiger750.wordpress.com/category/electrics/
