Peter (Petros) means small stones. Petra means rock. Jesus was saying he would build his church on the rock of himself petra. Jesus and God would never build their church on a mere mortal small stones petros. This was not a name change for Peter. Jesus would never call Peter the rock.Jesus was making a comparison. All through out scripture Christ is called the rock, the cornerstone, the foundation. Peter was not that.
Could it be that the rock Jesus was speaking of is the “revelation” from the Father that he would build the Kingdom? And without this hearing faith (revelation) would not exist.
AMÉN!! Jesus is the way to that forgiveness and to receive God's Love , that's why Jesus came to earth God's only son , to die in the cross and give the opportunity of your life to start over , and make you new ! New! , feel forgiveness from God is born again, accepting Jesus as a Lord and Savior Amen !
This is so awesome. Gods has been repetitively saying to me my sheep hear my voice. We are all contributing from the body to the body to the world. This 'is very insightful how to speak to my unbelieving children. Your blessed and thank you i have shared this video. I also just put this into practise. I work in disability with people of dementia. A man I look after has been up for most of the night. I was prompting him back to bed and I was listening to this and than paused it and asked God what he thought and wanted me to do. I heard God say Go, pray for him. I went in his room with him and chatted about why he's still awake and if he's experiencing anxiety which he responded with I don't know why I can't sleep but I am very anxious. tucked him in and told him to rest, I than layed my right hand on him and blessed him with rest, peace and sleep. He's been asleep since than. How far we can go in His rest and finished works is unlimited.
Any church that doesn't prophecy Jesus Christ as our God Lord and Savior, is NOT a Christian church as it goes against the divinity of Christ. The meaning of Christianity is follower of Christ so any church that doesn't follow Christ, is not a Christian church. Our only common denominator is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Right on. We are all called to Communion...to eat His flesh and drink His blood.... so that we have (His real presence) life within us. The word Catholic means Universal. We are the Mystical Body Of Christ. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. ❤
So thankful for the leadership of Cal Jernigan. When I was a kid, we used to "church hop" a lot. But then I remember my mom started taking my brother and I to Central (probably not long after Cal became the senior pastor), and it was the first church I ever loved going to. When I was 13, my mom got sick and we stopped going to church. But when I got my drivers license three years later, I drove myself to the Central Mesa campus from age 16 up until I moved to Tennessee at age 27. I got baptized at Central at 21, and Central is still the only church that has ever felt like home. No church has shaped so much of who I am to this day. I remember driving home after one of Cal's sermons as a teenager with tears in my eyes because it was the first time I really ever understood just how much Jesus loved me. Thank you Central and pastor Cal for having the impact you've had on my life. 💗
