Thanks guys.. I love hearing the old ones with a plow in the ground. I grew up on green popping johns. Close the shutters til it barely steamed then open a little and let it rip..
We called it a side hill hitch, you could move your drawbar back and forth so the plow would trail more to the left or the right to compensate for gravity pulling it down the hill. We had one that was hydraulic too. great video.
+Red Iron Acres Pretty sure it was a 1550. I spent a lot of hours on a red painted 1600 as a kid when I worked on the neighbours farm and many more on a 1650 of my own shortly after I started farming my families place. I still have a special place in my heart for Oliver/Cockshutt for some reason, even though I farmed for years with Case tractors and finally with John Deere after the real Case tractors were gone. ;)
