Focused on bouldering since May 2021. Been discovering old and forgotten outdoor boulder problems, and creating new ones in and around Tuscaloosa, AL, USA.
Maybe I'm lucky, but I seriously think all sports injuries other than one caused by accidents or those caused in full contact sports are preventable with proper training.
@@dizietz yes. This helped a ton and also doing wrist and hand motions in a rice bucket. I climb very hard and unless I neglect my antagonist training, my elbows feel fine.
@@dizietz that's a ton more experience than me so you're probably climbing much harder. Do you do any antagonist training such as elbow extension or wrist/finger extension?
@@dojanglesclimb ugh I'm typically a v10 climber though relatively big (6'3 / 85kg). Strength wise (relative to the elbow) I can do one arm pullups, though those aggravate the injury. I haven't focused on antagonist training specifically though I have an armwrestling background and train jiu jitsu.. so I use the cupping and (flexion and pronation) movements all the time in my life. I've followed general advice to focus on those movements in rehab (which is weird because I am incredibly strong on those movements already / previously and it makes less sense for me to put more milage on the medial epicondyle area! I also think the things that cause these issues are probably related to poor lat flexibility in the external plane on the shoulder. I think what happens all the time is I rehab an injury so it doesn't hurt much and then stop the rehab program and not incorporate it into my weekly routine.
@@dizietz start getting serious with exercises like band pull downs to beef up the triceps and pump blood into your elbows on a regular basis. Rather than pronation and cupping, train the exact opposite like supination and opening the hand while extending the wrist which can be done with a resistance band as well. Since you have a great amount of strength in one direction your joints are probably out of alignment. Bringing some strength and hypertrophy to the opposite muscle groups can help centrate the joints.
@@nickjenkins23 That's a good point I neglected to mention, actually. Activation of the nervous system and increasing circulation via exercise breaks is proven to improve work performance and general intelligence, and decrease overall stress.
@@brianleevictoryyes! I lost my footing but put it there after. Have not been gym climbing much at all so I'll have to re-adapt to this kind of thing. It's been all slab and roof climbs outside for months! Nothing in between.
It's all important bro this reality the dream dimensions passing on av tried most western "remedies" I believe the same we are shamans bro or should i say trainee sharman. I will be in touch bro little busy the now peace out for now
I suffer from this at least three times a week, from the age of 11, I am now 41. The episodes varies in time from 3 mins to 20 mins. I have been able to train myself to be vocal, waking my partner who i have got , interacting with my self by raising my arm, which gets me out of the paralysis, i have on several occasions managed to force myself out of bed to then collapse in a heap on the floor, happens at different times of night and day, and the presence of an entity is not always there, but the fear, panic and impending doom feelings are always ALWAYS there, it's horrendous and sooooooo draining, It puts the fear in me and i struggle to get back to sleep. Any help and/or advice would be very welcome. Thanks
@@peterscott1155 That's awful that it is so frequent! Have you ever had a sleep study? May be something to look into. I've found parasympathetic breathing before bed helps prevent night terrors. Also, marijuana products delay REM sleep but that isn't necessarily a good thing in the long run. May be worth looking into if you're really suffering though. There are also supplements such as magnesium that relax the nervous system you could try an hour before bed. Everyone is different so it's really hard to say what may work for you. Good luck! Thanks for sharing.
super interesting... your initial description almost sounded like a variation of Astral Projection, which if it is a phenomenon that has any semblance of reality, might result in "beings" following you back to "this plane", no idea 🤷♂️ shout out to Jesus Christ ..... much more open to the "immaterial", after passing through 2020 and what essentially feels like into "postmodernity" *(purely Liberal, Material, Scientific frameworks appear inadequate to sustain Western Civilization) .... not sure, I've never really heard of this phenomenon, really intersting hearing about it *(3️⃣👉🐸!!!)
Sleep and dreams in general are still a very mysterious thing. Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder where one can slip into REM sleep extremely quickly. For instance, I can fall asleep and almost immediately dream whereas "normal" sleepers will need to go through a few stages of sleep for at least an hour before they even enter REM sleep at all, and even then may need to cycle through several more times before they experience vivid dreams. I've always had very strange sleep, including lucid dreams where I become aware I am dreaming and can assert various levels of control over them. I think what happened last night was a mix of lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis. I became aware enough to understand what was happening to a point where I overcame my panic and slowly took control of the situation at hand. I have "projected" myself before via lucid dreaming. The first time I became conscious of my unconsciousness (LOL) was because of a feeling of deja vu after experiencing the same nightmare many times as a child. I realized I had "been there before" and that seemed to shock me into consciousness but not wake me. I would often do battle with my nightmare monsters for fun, or simply spirit myself away to a completely different dream world then lose myself in something more pleasant.
@@dojanglesclimb I have done this also, is almost as tho I'm traveling through dimensional spaces iv met, talked to/interacted (non verbal) with entities, closely relative to the dmt machine elves and teachers folks talk about, from dmt trips and iv NEVER touched the stuff, very very interesting.
I think its an object in motion, stays in motion 😂 but i like your versions better! Sorry your sciatic is acting up again. You already know how to approach it, so hopefully you can bounce back sooner or later.
@@Sheikbaby LOL I'm such an idiot sometimes. My sleep has not been great due to allergies - or at least that's my excuse. This makes me want to focus on climbing even more but dammit... I love the martial arts. Will be taking it easy with the high impact stuff for sure.
dude i’m really sorry to hear your back’s been giving you issues again. Hope you have a speedy recovery this time fr. 🙏 good to hear it’s doing better than normal though.
I know you know the feeling. At least I'm mobile but it always takes a while for that kind of nerve pain to go away. Will take it easy on the martial arts stuff. Sucks. Was having fun with it.
