I own a 1973 Rodgers kit that originally had that wood panel wrap. It was fun for a while until I realized that I kept blending into a lot of walls and corners of stages that looked exactly the same so I had the kit wrapped in a blue sparkle finish. The drums themselves sound awesome and they are perfect for my style of playing
I love Premier, some years ago i owned a XPK made in China, really good drums, but the heads spoil his real sound, like these kits, the first thing to do when you buy one is change the heads, but i love these Birch kits, great value.
70 year old still bad ass (sorry but it's true lol - I got yer Dad guitar right here) guitar player, but learned the drum rudiments in 5th grade because Beatles, but when it was apparent 'rents couldn't afford a set back then guitar was the result - still I can play somewhat okay some drums. I ask you, my Max kit comes in 2 days... upon research I see reports of the snare mount bracket sagging being an issue and many rec getting a snare stand (I could improvise support from a tube guitar stand if need be) so I ask has that been an issue for you, or for any other reading this? Thanks ! 🎸
Honestly, this sounds and looks pretty convincing to me. The only thing sticking out to me are the toms machine gunning. It looks as if it's partly a dynamic range issue, like it's too easy to hit 'full velocity' when a real drum still has more to go. Also, whereabouts you hit a real tom also affects the timbe. Doesn't stop me wanting one though.
I purchased an AQX Jazz kit from DCP a few weeks ago. It sat "at the warehouse" for 11 days and never shipped so I cancelled my order and the same day, sound a guy with an AQ2 (same thing but maple) less than 15min from me on FB marketplace for $400.00 I am completely blown away by how big these drums sound given the size. My last kit that I had before taking a 4 year hiatus from drumming was a PDP 805 that my dad bought me my Sr. year of highschool back in 2009. That was a 20" by I think like 16 or 18" and this little tiny 18" bass hits WAYYYYY harder than the 805 did. Granted, PDP was birch and this AQ2 is maple, but still, its been 15 years since buying my last kit and and cant believe how far the kits have come. Cymbals on the other hand though....still no good options for "budget" cymbals unless you want to import them from Turkey (istanbul cymbals are 👌) so since this is a foray back into drumming after converting to a bass player over the last decade, I went the used route as well
Why Alesis Do not Direkt outputs????Thats realy easy...Realy not understand that....great Kit but thats my hope comes in Future update, the Strata need that Option Realy!!
I've used my Alesis Strata live. It sounds great but I've come across some dead zone on the snare a couple of times. I did change the curve from linear to log 2 and 3 which I think helped solve that. I can still play some ghost notes. 😁
I feel like Matt cymbal Is like a dual series crash ride, but the dark series is in the middle of it and then the jazz is on the outside. At least that’s what I think.
Why aren't these drums more available in the U>S>A? Sure, i see hem but usually sold used, just a snare here and there, but kits?MAYBE drum center of portsmouth, NH, same with TAMBORO italian drummakers ...killer drums but no outlets unless you take a gamble and mailorder, pay out theass. Remind me of BARTON drums, mixed with a ludwig club date, or C+C brand.sound awesome, i want some.
When you hard pan all of your inputs to break it out into 6 outputs, does it apply to all of the preset kits, or do you have to apply the settings to every preset separately?
I just bought these drums and the only way I can play them without headphones is to hook them up to my JBL party box with an aux cable. This works but there is a very annoying split second delay that drives me nuts. They do sound awesome but I want other people to hear them without headphones on. How do I get rid of this delay? Better quality aux cable? If I buy the monitor that goes with it, will this get rid of it? These are stage worthy drums but when it comes to electronics... I'm stumped! Please let me know what to do and what causes the delay. Peace✌️
