This was a beautiful song back from 1977 when I was a young 20 year old hitting the club scene back in Los Angeles. He never had another song to my memory to reach the level of success this song had. He has a nice voice tor this song. Nice slow dance song.

This album was a landmark album for female singers everywhere, as it was one of the first albums centered around a common theme - in this case, love. There is no doubt in my mind that Barry White used this as a guideline for the direction he would take Love Unlimited. Not only was the album was top shelf from beginning to end, it still stands the test of time!

Of course, The Impressions' original version is a Stone Soul Classic groove, but Aretha had the power to transform everything she touched into co-existing classics. I don't consider her creations as competition for the originals, but as beautiful re-interpretations of them.
100% agree. Aretha did so many covers and almost all of them enhanced or surpassed the originals. An Aretha cover never left you wondering...eh...why did she select that song or same old same old.
