You can try this code: .utility-bar { background: url("IMAGE_URL"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: cover; } It really depends on the theme you are using. Hope this helps. Also try typing the code yourself, something when you copy and paste codes from the YT description it loses formatting.
I was trying to change background color of announcement bar following your instructions and the code but it says that / background does not appear to be used in this section
The background code listed in this tutorial is to use for a background image. If you want to add a color use the Color Scheme as I did in minute 3:08. Thanks for the question.
Hey, hope you are doing good, actually I am graphic designer and make thumbnails for RU-vid channels, I would like to share my work with you so if you can share mi your mail then I will share you the work!!
hmmm. It could be a spacing issue. If the patterns are not touching it will look like theirs a line. The other thought is, the elements you may be using have a border. To troubleshoot try adding a high contract background, or zoom in on the design, to see what it could be.
Great question! Technically that would fall under a Broadcast License. Broadcast license allows the use of fonts in onscreen text for broadcasting such as RU-vid videos and streams. But it all boils down to the intent in which you are using the font, for commercial or non-commercial use. So if you use your YT channel to sell goods and services then that would require a commercial license, if the font designer does not sell a specific broadcast license. Hope this helps!
@@BL_Creative one more I see desktop, web font, app, digital ad and server as options. Desktop specifies social media is fine through it. Which one of these would be considered broadcast

Such an amazing tutorial! To the point and worked immediately for me. Thank you! one question though: How do I make sure the logo does not disappear on the header in the mobile version? For me, the button is visible in the mobile version, but the logo is not there anymore. Thank you in advance!
I managed to fix this issue! I reduced the padding left and right to 15px. In the code it was 30px. I then removed the search and shopping cart icons because I don't need them for my business. Now the button does not hide the logo anymore :)
Nice and informative video Betty - thanks! The code applies well to the desktop version - but the button takes up far too much space on mobile. Can you help me out? Thanks in advance!
Great question, great video idea too! Their are apps you can get to create custom headers. So you can have 1 style of header in your home page and a different header for the rest of the site. Check out the Shopify App Store.
Hi, to add a logo go to Shopify admin, Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Click (top right) Customize email template. If it's not there reach out to Shopify for assistance, or you can also check with the developer of the theme you are using.
Yes you can do that. I will go ahead and make that video and publish it for you in the coming days. It's not something I can write here in the comments. 🙌
Hi Betsy! Thanks for your video. I've been able to follow along and edit the header menu, however when I switch to mobile the new button takes over the space where my logo should be. The button doesn't appear in the drawer like yours. I'm using the Dawn theme 15.0.0 - perhaps the update doesn't work with this code?
Hey Betsy, I tried your swipe hover code and it worked great except for 1 thing. After it turns the second colour, there's a small loading circle displayed on it after the button is clicked. Please tell me how to fix that, thanks!
Hopefully you can help me. Whats interesting is it totally worked but that code is at the bottom of all the pages... This is at the bottom of all the pages.. // CUSTOM CODE var links = document.links; for(let i = 0, linksLength = links.length; i < linksLength; i++){ if (links .hostname !== window.location.hostname) { links.target = '_blank'; links.rel = 'noreferrer noopener'; } }
Are you using one of Shopify’s free themes? If you are they will be able to help you with this specific code. If not, I would have to look at the site to be able to troubleshoot the error. If you are familiar with code, you can use the inspect tool to help troubleshoot. Even if you made a lot of spaces you could be missing something like a coma or bracket.

Thanks for the question! If you click on the link to the code go down to line 29 the code is everything under "/*PART TWO OF THE TUTORIAL- DELETE IF NOT NEEDED*/"
Thanks for the question. The difference is with GC Product you create a product anyone can purchase on your website, so they add to cart and purchase it. With a Create a GC it's a manual product you create for a customer, you then send it to them via email or a code.
Humm, not sure, the only recent update made to policies is that they are now displayed in the footer by default. Reach out to Shopify they will help you troubleshot.
