If you are wondering why so few people appreciate your video, here is why. You never show that you put it back in the water. Also, you seem to have it in your hands a long time, and you are holding it in a way that would hurt the creature. You show no sense about dealing with such a sensitive creature. Your choice of music is quite nice, but your commentary is rather dumb in my opinion. We all hope the sand dollar is fine, but many of us have our doubts.
No, never thought of any of that. I did put it back into the water, and safely down on the bottom in about three feet of depth. It went under the sand and vanished in a few minutes. I stood there so no one would come along and crush it. I tell you that I am putting him back in the water and don't believe me. Rest assured. He's good.
Sand dollars can't survive out of the water for more than a few minutes. If you find a live one, return it to its home by placing it gently on the sea floor. Thanks for the cool video.
