Thanx for the video! We had to leave as soon as they kicked this one in, to warm up our 89 Camaro at the parking lot, that had many mechanical issues; If I was going to get stucked in line outside venure the engine would have died right away! :)
ha ha ... and Vajra's (I'm kind of Vajra's MahMa) art at 26:56 into the Steve Roach experience. Steve Roach, thank you for this lovely day filled with your SOULestial sounds. www.altaroftheheart.com
I was there. I drove from SF to LA to see them for the third time. The first was the Optical Race tour in Berkeley, and the second was a tiny venue in SF. LOVE TD, and have loved every shoe. But Optical Race was the best technically and sound wise. I can still remember the hair on the back of my neck standing up. And Andy Somers was the warm up act then :-O
Walk right up smile, say hello & dont ask too many stupid questions like what synthesizer's did you use on Dreamtime Return(Im sure the nerd things gets old with him!)....Rather simple. He's a very nice guy to be honest.
It was a great show! My videos aren't that great, either for the same reason. Plus, it was my first time filming video w/ a new camera. What songs did they play for the encore? My wife & I left 'cause we were so tired, but I still wanted to stay! They played for over 2-1/2 hours!
@bkilcoyne well why don't you put your video from asheville on then if its so much better.. most of us appreciate somebody going to the trouble of holding up a camera/phone or whatever for seven minutes and then uploading it.. so rather than just slagging it off either think.... or do better yourself maybe?
The first time I met Steve in person was in 1999. The gig at Hartford Conn. Been listening to Steve since the early 90's and first live show was at a coffee shop in Santa Monica in 1996. I've seen Steve live every year since 96 except for the 2010 Soundquest gig in Tucson. He is a very cool down to earth guy. I dont know him on a personal level but we do stay in touch through email and concerts. Steve Roach is one of my favorite artist along with Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream (met several time
el concierto mas aburrido q vi (no lo digo por ACDC q es lo mejor sino por la gente) la gente so saltaba no cantaba alpedo fua a alla acdc al reverendo pedo!
@seasider1962 a year later - but just to say yeah, I agree, a REAL drummer (and a babe as well) definitely has added to their sound - yes TOTALLY awesome!
Thank you for posting this. I wound up buying the new song and the mp3 of this concert, but someone made the decision to ruin one of the best things of this new variant... the awesome conga/bongo playing that is all but mixed right out in the final mix they sell... what a shame....
