Red Blaze is to be Harmony Trail and the Racheal Carson Trail is to be in the area as it heads to her Homested in Springdale below Springdale High School. She's to be buried in Upper Hill in New Kensington.
PA Canal and West Penn RR taken over by PRR as Conemaugh Line is below Park as across Allegheny River is Allegheny Valley Railroad. East Tarentum no Natrona to your right is historically known for Salt Mines that started off Allegheny Valley Expressway Exit 15 as Natrona was known for Penn Salt Company based in Philadelphia. Allegheny Ludlum Steel took over Salt Mine property as PRR had passenger Station at North Canal & Vine Street. In Harrison Hills Park and another Park held some of DPA's worst waste dump sites in PA.
Part 2 of 2 for Rough Diamond Trail has RU-vid and Google hidding it right now, but its there. Part 2 deals with Great Allegheny Passage to Carrie Furnace out the Turtle Creek Valley to Trafford to Murraysville to Old U.S.22 in Delmont Export up to Slickville to Saltsburg.
The Westmoreland Heritage Trail is west of where this video was made at Saltsburg Canal Park as where Section 1 from Trafford to possible 4 sections to Delmont, Slickville going under PA 66 to reach Slickville up to cut wye for line that came from New Alexandria was ripped out for building Loyalhanna Dam that brings the Westmoreland Heritage up to canal Park in Saltsburg.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit past Port Authority of Allegheny County and its outlined Allegheny County Transit systems that overlap PRT's work killed Passenger Train service in the Region as they foolishly chose to build busways instead of keeping Passenger Trains as SEPTA did by keeping PRR and Reading lines Passenger lines out east. On the Conemaugh Division Between Pittsburgh AMTRAK & Torrance there were 39 Stations along the Conemaugh Division areas for the Conemaugh Division that were lost by SPC and Board of Directors negent behavior to kill railroad and railroad Passenger trains service along the West Penn Trail area that is part of the Pittsburgh to Harrisburg Canal Greenway.
As we are in Saltsburg on PA 286 Bridge to your left you will see West Penn Railroad Pairs as in Avonmore is a collapsed tunnel for the West Penn Railroad that led onto those pairs that lead over to old Station in Saltsburg that lead out to the canal you cross at PA 286 bridge at Canal which leads to the Westmoreland Heritage trail at Canal Park. At the trail leading east towards Conemaugh Dam was where West Penn trail comes out along the left side of trail that leads to where you are at location of White Station.
As your back on North Side historic Allegheny City the steps at Federal, Sandusky Streets were left from the Lock Tender Houses for the Canal as you go up past Giant Eagle on the railroad property is where during the building of the I579 bridge is was where Penn DOT found the Canal boat as the Western Pennsylvania Railroad filled in the PA Canals Western Division up to Johnstown PA in Cambria County at the location for Plane 1 of the Foot of 10 Allegheny Portage Railroad. 2. Pennsylvania Canal again was filled in by West Penn Railroad and was taken over by the Pennsylvania RR's Conemaugh Division as it crossed under PA 356 & Lineville Bridges at Butler Junction as the Canal left Conemaugh Divisions as the Canal crossed Allegheny River to be on the past Kiski Junction Railroad as the Canal followed the northside of the Kiski River to PA 286 Bridge where name changes to Conemaugh River to Johnstown to meet the Stoney Creek River and Little Conemaugh River.
Adding many points to this video as you stated you don't know its history on the video. 1. Your start of video here has many missing points as down in Allegheny City no North Side where PNC Park today is located the City of Pittsburg now Pittsburgh had a Canal Basin on the property of PNC Park leaving the Allegheny City Terminus going through where PNC Park and the Hotel today is located leading up to a right pull onto the Pittsburgh Fort Wayne & Chicago Railway picking up the PA Canal from where it was built from 2nd & Saline Street through Grants Tunnel to AMTRAK/ Greyhound-Link Stations as the entry and exit for Buses for GL is the filled in basin for PA Canals Western Division, as it crossed the aqueducts pairs the PFtW&C Railways uses to meet the part above coming from the PNC Park Terminus as both meet and head up along the Allegheny River to a left along Canal Street along the 62nd Street Bridge going through industrial place crossing Main & Canal where the Park is going through past CoGo's on 15th Street going through ballfields under the newer old PA 28 Old Freeport Road bridge pulling left along the off ramp for Highland Park Bridge in Aspinwall.
David is so amazing! I've met him several times, and he joined me for my first kindness event I hosted. It did mean a lot that he took his time and talked with everyone.
