I met Eyal a few times at his frame shop over the years when my friend worked there, and even got to see his studio - I remember paintings that seemed to be about missile strikes and war - these are so beautiful and rugged and violent. Condolences to his family 🖤
This kind of collaboration knocks my socks off. Song +music+video+editing+painting+curation. I don't feel quite as bad about missing the show at the gallery now. Thank you all!
Really interesting, whimsical and varied work by Mr. Weiss! I especially like some of the "landscapes," like the one with the gray-toned sea, a yellow sky and a tiny building in the foreground. Wish i could've made it to the exhibition to see them in person.
Reproductions can offer no sense to the viewer of the gravity and genuinely profound presence that these works convey in person. If you want to get a sense of what art is about you have to see Stolyarov's work in the flesh. These small paintings are almost innocuous from a distance, but they contain an enormity.
Thornton Willis is so much greater than many you got more recognition. His work is always "perfect" regardless. I'm always amazed, but this work is the 'creme de la creme'.
