Well I think winter would've lasted longer had Aegon, Jon Snow "the prince that was promised", Targaryen not united the realm by begging Dany to do something. Then killed her when she went full blown insane. Dany wasn't even a prince. She was a princess and then declared herself a queen. Seems like the Conqueror would've made that distinction between a prince and a princess for such an important dream spoken in Valeryan or not.
