Follow me as I work with my Dad and learn whatever can i can about getting some of this older equipment that has been sitting for years to start , but Remember DontbeWily.
Just before it freezes put hydrologic floor jack grease on the in the cylinders and when spring time gets hear the grease will snake the pistons lose with the temperature going from cold to warm and back to down again

Love your videos Wiley seen you ever since you were with Hamilton would consider it a complete absolute honor to be able to spend time with you working on all this old stuff That's the problem with this new generation is as they just don't have any respect for the older folk and the knowledge that they hold You've probably forgotten more then most people have learned in a lifetime keep up the good work God bless you and yours

I remember when I was a kid, my dad had a friend that had a construction business with a rig like that, but I think it was a Mack truck and don't remember the dragline. It was a a round hood and fenders for the truck. They're both gone, watching some of these videos getting these old vehicle to start. I sure wish my dad was still here, he was a detroit diesel man, I still have his tools.
Yes. I want to get it where I I can sit in the seat. I never operated one I would love to actually get a bucket full of dirt and maybe put it in that dump truck Ck it off my bucket list See where I went with that
Don , I’m sorry for his family, that he passed away🙏🙏🙏🙏😪😪a lot could have been learned from that gentleman, as I learn from you Don, your both very smart , and we can learn so much from you as well, take care of yourself Don🙏🙏😢😢I worry about you all the time❤, I’ll be watching for your next video😎😎👍👍🍮🍮
I always enjoy you and your son, when he's available making videos. and a THANK YOU for being true and real. Also My lawn man bought this cheap little hand held battery chainsaw trimmer on temu under $40 he loves, I saw him cut 3" live oak here after the hurricane.
Thanks for the video Wiley. Was most interesting. Those old cranes were quite the machine. Some of those were made right here in Iowa I believe. You and Kieth and Jacob got it running for sure. Amazing after sitting all those years and you got it to operate Also. Good job to all of you. My compliments to you all. Sorry the owner passed away. My prayers. The Iowa farm boy. Steve 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Never blow oxygen in with a flame, you’re taking chances of the torch blowing through the aluminum my friend! It’s definitely possible Wiley, you can actually lance a shaft by heating it up red hot and just feeding it with oxygen and it will slow buble out and metal until it blows all the way through! I hope it wasn’t enough heat to feed the oxygen on that carburetor! Because aluminum carries heat pretty quick! Just some of my experience working in a fabrication shop and machine shop for over 38 years! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The levers from left to right are swing, drag, hoist, swing brake, boom. The two levers on the left are master clutch and high and low range. The pedals are the left is for the drag, and the right is for the hoist. I ran those old Bannies for years. My dad taught me how to run those old rigs. He always said, don't let me hear those chains rattle.
If you didnt know , the carb use to be called a updraft carb , the name quickly identified the type being worked on , from the down draft that sets on top of the intake manifold .
