For me it is not possible at all not to play the vibrato sideways because the back of my hand is too wide. I can't even get close to the fingerboard with my third finger without playing sideways
In reality it is a combination. No one can really play 100% back and forth. You'll have to do as much as you can in that direction whether it be 50/50 or 20/80..... As long as there is enough angle in your fingers to bend back and forth. I've seen enormous hands play vibrato this way. Good luck.
Would you guys please help me? I play violin but I feel exactly like this guy. My pain is chronic 😢. Same place as his and I too feel my violin isn't secure. I have tried everything ! I'm not kidding. I'll send video ....can you help?
True. No more slipper. What exactly are you looking for? Check out the Wolf Forte Secondo and the BonMusica. They need a lot of adjusting but they can suit people with long necks and form to the individual.
There would be many ways to keep it from falling, but that would make it difficult to adjust. Moving the post in different directions affect the tone and response in various ways. Also, over time, the top lifts and a new longer post becomes necessary.
Thank you so much, Contrary to common belief, you are never too old to learn unless you suffer from arthritis, or do not have the discipline to practice. You may not get great, but you can learn to play. :)
@@1stfiddlerman I've worked on it off and on for years. I've never come anywhere close to your speed. But then again, I probably haven't practiced as much as I should have.
@@philochristos I'm sure that is the case. I didn't practice the Orange Blossom Special much, but if you count all the practicing I did in my early life and my career, it's a ton. With something like this, try playing fast one beat at a time to see what causes issues. IOW, four fast notes at time, then put some beats together. perhaps try to get one fast measure at a time. Just to test the waters. VERY short strokes, even if it looks like I'm using a lot of bow, the number one issue with people inhibited by speed involves too much movement. Mostly right hand but sometimes the fingers are moving too much as well. Keep those left hand fingers close to the strings. Good luck!!!
L. Boccherini, "La Musica Notturna delle Strade di Madrid ” payasadas podéis hacer todas las que queráis pero a ver si hablamos..o interpretamos música... con propiedad, díganle a SMR que los tiempos del corso han terminado.. o no claro.
A glissando is chromatic and a Portamento is more of a slide, especially in singing. Glissando you hear semitones, sometimes even microtones. A portamento is a slide, usually between a smaller interval. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TKdwv6_QnvY.htmlsi=7dur-gzSErXRubZJ
It's very sad. And the worse part is that they didn't just give up when they saw all of us coming out. Criminals know that they don't get caught that often and there are very little consequences.
i am beginning violin player and i was tryingi to to study your fingers while playing and just couldnt do it. maybe in two years i will be able to.play the song.. I wee that this song is in flats which i have not studied yet nor the forth position. this song will give me the incentive to keep trying to improve. thanks
You're right. We were selling more than just about anyone but we got so many negative reviews and returns because of the latest quality. If I'm not mistaken we got back over half of them and lost money selling them. It's unfortunate, but the quality went downhill. :( We can look at them again to see if they are better now. You can find them on a Google search if you want to try one, but make sure that the place that you purchase it from accepts unconditional returns as we do.
Very much less so because longer strings have more flexibility in general. I don't think the pitch change when pressing hard and pulling the bow across the strings fast affects cellos. Not as much with violas as violins either.
From my experience with Chinese makers, they sometimes change things to increase profit of keep up with production. Sometimes, they can't keep up with production and reach out to their local workshops/factories rather than saying no to sales. I'm pretty sure that they sold the company too. The new company might have wanted to save money in every sense and all that adds up to poorer quality instruments. All I know for sure is that those instruments that I got to see years after making this video were not even close to the one I tested 12-13 years ago.
It is July, 2024, Six years now this past week. It has been very difficult for Scott's brother and me. I wish it wasn't so but I know that Heaven's Door will open one day for those of us who miss Scott. May God Give all who watch and listen to this video a peace that surpasses all reasoning.
