What depth were you in here and also how close to the bottom do you fish? I try to keep with 3 inches of the bottom. Were you on a transition here of rock of over mud? Nice video! Look forward to your videos as well when you put them out. Maybe I need to get some of Potters darters, I bought quite a few flies and hair jigs this past spring.
Fishing out on the Oconto Shoal has made going to the Bago system less exciting. I was trolling the other week with my old man on the bay we doubled up with a 25 and 26 inch walleye on crawler harness. That would never happen on Bago.
BTW.......Speaking of Salmon Fishing..I took 3rd in the king division at Brew City...Yes potter. You have been getting some monsters but......I got mine when they counted..Tight Line Guys..
I've been going from reef to reef on transition lines for 1 month now and haven't been able to locate them. Are you side imaging and only stopping when you see them on the graph, or how are you deciding when to stop and fish?
Saginaw Bay, greater Lake Huron, Canadian and Ohio waters of Lake Erie while using bigger cranks, and specially on Saginaw Bay, the Deep Jr Thundersticks and Reef Runner 600 Deep Little Rippers (hopefully they don't change under Acme) still shine using the 50/+2. Not a fan of the triple grip hooks, too many pull backs with no fish hooked up, switched the rear hook to VMC roundbends and fixed that issue.
In 1996 is when I started trolling Winnebago, prior to that is was just either long lining drifting Lindy rigs of slip bobbering the reefs. That time the hot baits for me were Storm Thunderstick Jr’s, Storm Hot & Tots and Cordel Wally Divers, I have so many of those that I barely use anymore but try from to time with little luck. My hot bait during the time was the Thunderstick Jr deep diver in the Rainbow Trout pattern, I have like 10 of those because every time I saw them I bought 1 or 2. Now it seems to be flicker shads, flicker minnows and now Salmo’s. Never ending buying baits and put some on moth balls! Nice video as always!
I use the same clips as you are using but they are opposite, the black snap release is on the main hook and the red release is hanging off the back, I was wondering how you get the fish to pull back the board out of the way and just pull them in, specifically the second and third board out. No problem with very short leads as I can just let them loose and go back and pull the 3 rd line in front of them. But it is the longer leads.
