The One80 System is a patented thought process, evaluation tool and treatment technique used by elite medical professionals. With the focus on function and MoStreBility (Motion + Strength + Stability) rather than symptoms, our patented system gives patients immediate and lasting results, and professionals clarity and clinical success. Unlike conventional PT, we use critical thinking to target and treat neuromuscular inhibition to restore MoStreBility throughout the kinetic matrix.

Hey, does that mean i should start getting clinical experience after my DPT instead of pursuing a master's degree? Also, can one become a clinical physiotherapist without a master's degree?
@rhettpolka9619
@rhettpolka9619 24 дня назад
If you have a DPT you wouldn't go back for a masters. Not sure what country you are in, but in the US you would need a license to bill insurance. There are no more masters degree programs in PT in the US. Thanks for the questions.

@rhettpolka9619 I am a fresh graduate, i did my DPT from Pakistan (It was a 5 year degree). Now i am sceptical of whether i should do job now or go for masters?

Physical therapy profession sucks. I can’t think many degrees where a person can spend more money and years in education to reap limited facial rewards at the end of the schooling. By calling physicians “geniuses” in a snarky tone you sound like you are bitter. Maybe you wish you were a Medical Doctor and just could cut the mustard. We all know there is no comparison in the quality of applicants to PT programs vs Medical Schools.

This is a demo of how stretching decreases force output of a muscle, which is why stretching should be avoided in any rehab setting. This content is geared more towards practicing medical professionals vs patients. Sorry for the confusion.

Would you mind elaborating about the soleus's contribution to knee flexion? Some studies have shown that the Soleus's activation havent changed during knee flexion. Can you please explain or at least cite the source of this statement? Thank you

The soleus is eccentrically controlling anterior tibial translation during squats, lunges, going down stairs, etc.

If I do a pulsing stretch or Elephant Walks, are those considered dynamic stretches? Are they good stretches to do and not passive stretches? Is stretching in bed OK as long as the muscles are engaged? Animals naturally do a morning stretch like this too. Seems ok. I'm eliminating stretches where those muscles are completely disengaged.

Is stretching ever useful, or is it always bad for the body? Is stretching helpful after physical activities? I did a lot of uphill hiking one day, stretched after, then I was fine the next day. Otherwise, I would have been very tight. I'm doing my best to understand your video. Thanks!
@One80PT
@One80PT 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the question. No, stretching is not helpful at any time including after exercise. Your active warm up should be repeated as you cool down. The effects of stretching aren't something you will feel the day after, and the likely hood of stretching after a long hike making you "tighter" the day after is actually greater than the odds of it making you "more loose."

@One80PT This information about stretching is so interesting! I spoke with a marathon runner in her 50s who said she never stretches. I think I have heard stretching doesn't help sometime in my life. I'm definitely open to anything making my life/ workouts simpler. I have spend so much time stretching in the past sometimes. I will start trying to accomplish the same things without stretching. Thanks You! I will be watching your videos. I started walking backwards for 10 minutes each day just 1 week ago and I love it! I am doing 5 times a week on level ground and would like to work up to 10 minutes 7 days a week walking backward on an incline. Thanks!!! 🥳 I am learning from Ben Patrick too.
@Ben-pk4cv
@Ben-pk4cv 3 месяца назад
@One80PT BTW I'm skipping Ben Patrick's stretching, if there is any included, in his workouts to try no stretching.
@One80PT
@One80PT 3 месяца назад
@@Ben-pk4cv Nice! Just remember the definition of "stretching" is passively lengthening a muscle. This is where Ben mixes up "stretching" with dynamic warm up. If he is going trhough a ROM actively, but calling it "stretching," he isn't actually "stretching."

Would you prescribe isolation exercise specific to the vastus lateralis ? Is that physiologically possible? Wouldn’t all the quad fire with knee extension or hip extension anyway ?
@One80PT
@One80PT 3 месяца назад
Great question! No, I do not give patients VL exercises. The only way to isolate a muscle is during very specific isometrics. Even then, it would be impossible to completely isolate a muscle, especially if it is inhibited. The positioning and direction of force needed to tweeze out the VL would be extremely hard to do as an isometric. The lung walk series of reinforcement exercises are what we use to help patient's facilitation between visits.
@KarimVEVO0
@KarimVEVO0 3 месяца назад
Its patient specific. Sometimes All you need is to see how their quad strength is overall. And if you are specific with an athlete then you may want to bias the different muscles around the upper leg to identify the right muscle.
@One80PT
@One80PT 3 месяца назад
Correct. The question is, "how would you test facilitation (not strength) for each muscle?" You can't do that with manual muscle tests or "functional tests/assessment."

@One80PT

Thanks for the question. Not quite sure what you mean. I'd re-facilitate the inhibited muscle first, then do full ROM exercise to reinforce facilitation.

are there like common antagonist muscles for every muscle that could be compensating for the inhibited one thus causing the conpensated one to chronically hurt while the other doesnt hurt cuase its not doing anything?

if a certain set of muscle feel tight and crampy imgunna assume isomettrics or comign to you for the antagonist muscles to get faciliation proper again is key not atking the hurt area itself

That is such a hard thing to tell an athlete because they're so good at compensating. From the coaching side, this is exactly why a coach works so hard to stay out of there player's way because one more voice can create this. And that's why it's so important if you're sport allows you to reset so you can clear that inhibition.

When you mention non-functional movements that people are doing, do you mean the soleus push up that many people now we’re talking about ?
@titonadler8981
@titonadler8981 8 месяцев назад
It does. So in the upper trap case, you would manually facilitate the muscles at the NMJ at distal and proximal ends, and if that doesn’t work you look for the reciprocal problem? Thank you for all the amazing info!
