I have been having an issues for 2 years and it's becoming unbearable, no matter what weight is on my nose, it hurts after a few mins and I get migraines. I have resorted to wearing a strap to lift the glasses off my nose which in turn hurts my forehead. Life is miserable and have been unable to find any help. I cannot wear contact due to corneal issues and same with lasik etc
Loved your explanation. I've been wearing glasses for over 30 years and for the first time I got my new pair of glasses from that big fancy store at the mall and they have that frosted edge and don't like it one bit. It doesn't over $600 for the lenses and frame so I guess I have to go back and try to explain this to the manager 😂❤ Thanks for this informative video.
Yup! More info on that here My Nose Hurts! Adjusting Nose Pads On Your Glasses 2.0 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qDvR5zyliSk.html Though these have a very narrow bridge area so can only be adjusted so far. Keep that in mind.
What about those screwless Lindberg hinge like the ones in their strip collection? I thought they patented these type of design but I've been seeing it more often by other brands.
I’m so glad I found your video! Currently dealing with a situation with my new glasses and I’ve spend over $400 with insurance. I sent you a message on Instagram in hopes you can help me. I’m at my wits end. 😭
Enjoying your videos very much. Thank you for all the good info! I’ve read a lot where eyes should be centered in the frames and temples should go straight back to the ear. These guidelines create a problem for me because I have a large head. I own a couple of Shuron Ronsir frames (the inventor of the browline style). One is 54mm with a 24mm bridge. The temples go straight back, but size of the lenses make my eyes appear too close together. The other is 48mm with a 20mm bridge. My eyes are perfectly centered in the lenses, but I had to slightly bend the metal bridge to get the temples splayed out so they don’t dig into the sides of my face. It works pretty well, but the lenses look just a tad small on my big, long, oval face and the temples sort of angle back to my ear instead of going straight back. I love this style of frame and get compliments, but trying to find a happy medium can be frustrating!
Man how I wish we could just test different lenses/frames over and over on the store, but it's a back and forth of redoing lenses and praying for the next combination to be the one. I didn't even imagine this kind of optical distortions were a think with spectacles. Only dealt with it when going for budget camera lenses before.
Just got my first pair yesterday. Bared down and dealt with the zoomed in weirdness day 1 (got em toward the end of the day, didnt want the glasses to "win" lol). Slapped em on first thing this morning. Better than yesterday, but everything just feels weird. Eyes feel like theyre working overtime to focus on stuff at all distances. This video has been extremely encouraging. So, thanks man! OD: +0.25 / -1 / 100 OS: +0.25 / -1.25 / 075 Also want to point out that no one at the office I went to told me what those numbers mean... so, thanks for that as well. Lol.
Needed this tutorial. I had progressives a lot of years ago lost insurance had to go to Medicaid which doesn’t cover them. Since I been in bifocals I don’t have crisp vision as I did before bifocals. An issue I have is I wear glasses low on my nose & I don’t think even though They measure & fit glasses when pick out frame. I don’t think they do the lines correctly. Now I am back in progressives it was suggested by technician based on the struggles I said I have with lined bifocals. When I had 2st progressives it took a bit to adjust but once I did I loved them. This time I can’t see I am having to physically lift my glasses to view out for reading.. I kept same frame & they popped lenses out. The distortion like gives me motion sickness. Is some of the issue because I wear glasses so low. Been wear glasses well over 50 years. Any suggestions would be good.I know it will take some time. I don’t want to give up so quickly. I have to get use to proper head movements.
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 so I got glasses yesterday and they done it within 1 hour . So it's possible they have stock lenses in an optician which they can cut to have the correct axis?
@@jesuslovesjudy same processes. Most people are asymmetric. If it’s a dramatic difference split the adjustment between both sides, all still pretty easy 😁
Give it a little more time, if that doesn’t improve in a day 5 wearing all day long I would have a chat with where the glasses were made and/or the prescriber. The adjustment period could be MUCH longer, but you’ll know if things are improving or not quickly :)
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 oh yeah the doctor told me I can choose to wear them only in outdoor activities that really need far vision, like driving or at sports. should I really just wear them when I need them? because I have -0.75 and -1.25 diopter values, meaning I can still see some things, just without fine edges.
That’s roughly what my rx was when I started wearing glasses, I didn’t have that symptom but i just liked to see clearly and wore them all the time 😌. *eh hem* wear the 🤬 glasses. 🙂↕️😂. At the bare minimum if first time wearing glasses wear for a few weeks full time and then use as you see fit, I suspect you’ll not want to go without them at that point, however.
This is not my first time wearing a progressive lens. This time around the bifocal has increased a lot. With the new lens I have to tilt my head way down just so I can see to drive. How can this be fixed?
I actually have the opposite problem. I found a pair of smith sunglasses (ventures), and bought them, and I love them, but they're just a HAIR too narrow and putting some pressure behind my ears. But I'll wear em for a while and they'll probably stretch a bit. I wish they made the frames in a wider model though.
Any tips for adjusting titanium arms around the ear? (Frame is acetate). Also, is it appropriate to add thin silicone or foam nose pads to help snug the bridge up a bit? I wear invisible bifocals (don't know the right term for them) so adjustments can be a little tricky to keep that sweet spot. Thanks so much. Cheers. 😊

Wanted to like these but found them too expensive + heavy, so I'm still wearing my Original Wayfarer's for now. Maybe the Maui Jim Valley Isle is the way to go for me.
Yeah I dunno what was going on that day. Reshot the whole thing in my new studio setup last year. 🥂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-onKXr0hY2do.htmlsi=u7409e6p2uu6Ntg7
Thank you for the valuable information and training, I applied your techniques to adjusting my new glasses and they were absolutely effective. I do have a question. Are you currently seeing anyone?
Man, you are my last hope. I'm -0.75/ -1.75;0,25 cyl both; 5/50 degrees and I cant get rid of the curved bottoms... I've never worn contacts, and I've had the fishbowl for the past 3 pairs of glasses I've gotten. I can't get used to it, I don't know what to do...
