At BackSeat Media, our mission is Helping Catholics Build A Personal Relationship With Jesus
Our vision is to build a vibrant community of renewed Catholics joyfully living their faith in daily life. Through traditional and digital media, we aim to bring the transformative power of Jesus to those seeking a deeper, more purposeful life than the painful emptiness experienced in modern society.
My close friend Delores was from Humboldt Park and belonged to Our Lady of the Angels. She grew up on Hamlin St., close enough to touch the bricks of the church from her house, she said. It was a beautiful Romanesque style church. The parish church was restored and rededicated in 2012. It is now Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, and is staffed by Franciscans.
Catholicism is Antichrist, the Little Horn in Daniel 7 and the Beast in Revelation 13: 1-3. Daniel 2 with a repeat and enlarge in the rest of the prophetic chapters. Jesus said. salvation is of the Jews! Heaven is Jewish, with the New Jerusalem with the gates named after the 12 Tribes of Israel and the twelve foundations with the name of the 12 Apostles. There is no Catholic Heaven. Only Spiritual Jews will enter in. Along with Luther, John Calvin, Thomas Cranmer and John Knox identified the Roman Papacy as the Antichrist. The Centuriators of Magdeburg, a group of Lutheran scholars in Magdeburg headed by Matthias Flacius, wrote the 12-volume "Magdeburg Centuries" to discredit the papacy and identify the pope as the Antichrist.
@@BackSeat-Media A lot of Christians are being mislead, some on this page, for instance, Catholicism is not home. Spiritual Israel is! Jesus, Himself, said Salvation is of the Jews to the woman at the well. A Christian needs to recognize, truth from error, Christ vs. Satan. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matt 24: 24 KJV The Narrow and Wide Gates 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. True and False Prophets 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. True and False Disciples 21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7 KJV
Thanks for doing this thoughtful podcast! I'm an new listener. I'm an evangelical so I know a lot about over-reacting and you did a good job not doing so. I would say, for the Jews in the B.C. era, to whom had not yet been revealed the full mystery of Christ, they arguably were following what would be considered a "different" religion (Judaism). Also, Acts 10 when Cornelius was praying to God (not the Christian one), and a Holy Angel appeared to him to get Peter to explain the gospel, that was his "path". If I were to give the Pope the benefit of the doubt concerning what he was saying, I would agree with him that Christians share a core belief with other religions: We all believe in a God (true). We all believe that our religion is a path to a God (true). Debating whose God is real is counterproductive (true). [I think he just omitted an "a", then he would have been technically correct according to an English understanding of fundamental Christian beliefs.] TL;DR It was a language issue
Hey man! Thanks so much for writing this comment. It’s very well said, and I appreciate you bringing the book of Acts into it. I’m excited to know you’re a new listener, and pumped for what God has in store! Your name is Jon???
Daaang, this was so good!! Awesome points on all three topics. Funny, I've been having some of these conversations With my 11 and 12 year-old (even their friends groups are talking about this stuff non stop)about P. Diddy and the messed up celebrity culture and why ultimately so many in those type of positions end up in not great places. amen, what we worship turns us and changes us. Wish you and your wife lived over here in Kentucky, you guys are great :-)
the bible says come as you are so if you confess with your mouth and believe with your hearts you will have a personal relationship and that is where repentance comes in
@@HamstersAreCool-f6c in the catholic church, when we receive the sacrament of confirmation, we chose a name to join us as adults in the catholic faith. But if you dont receive the sacrament, you dont "need" the name 😇
I suggest researching where the stories of the Bible originate, plus the over 80 books removed from the Bible from the Roman Catholic Church. The Cuneiform tablets explained a way different beginning of our existence, and existed thousands of years before “Jesus”. Any response to these facts? Or are you going to hold onto your baseless faith protocol
Thank you for your comment; we always welcome great conversation! First, it's worth noting that the Catholic Church has always been deeply committed to the study of Scripture and the origins of the biblical texts. The Bible is not merely a collection of ancient stories but a divinely inspired text that reveals God's relationship with humanity in a unique and profound way. When we talk about the "books removed" from the Bible, it's important to clarify that the Catholic Church's canon of Scripture has remained consistent since the early centuries of Christianity. The Bible, known today in the Catholic tradition, includes 73 books, including the Deuterocanonical books, which are sometimes omitted in Protestant versions. These books were affirmed by the Church in the Councils of Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD) and were part of the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures widely used in the time of Christ. The Catholic Church does not dismiss the insights of ancient texts or modern science regarding the beginning of our existence. In fact, the Church has a long history of engaging with science and archaeology. For instance, the creation accounts in Genesis are not meant to be scientific explanations but theological reflections on God's creative power and the inherent goodness of creation. Faith and reason are not opposed but work together to lead us to the fullness of truth. Please keep coming by here, and checking in. I promise you this: God is not what they say about Him. He’s awesome, and He loves you!
Check out the full episode… I’m talking about a question regarding taking a job with “less purpose”, but feeing bad about it. I think it’s not about the job but who we are in the job
I posted a reply to this on IG, and it got immediately removed. My exact words: "100. Jesus hung around with the sinners. We need to be examples to those that don't believe!!!
If you're willing to get on a plane and listen to a child cry then you should absolutely go to a church. The people in the congregation will tolerate and love with the fact that you were there. If it's a true Christian Church weather it be Catholic or Christian. Everybody that comes through God's doors is loved
I went to Mass with my 3 year old niece. She colored and “read” to herself and passed out snacks quietly. The Sign of Peace was by far her favorite time!!
The amount of pressure on young people these days is staggering. I would not want to be a teenager in 2024. How can they be expected to pick a life long profession at such a young age? I know they did in the past and the majority married and did well in life, but young people today are not as mentally and spiritually strong as those in the past. They have no foundation to build on and that's why the world's a mess.
I feel for them as well. Seems different than when I was that age. I actually go into that with my second tip. You should check it out and lemme know what you think!
Holy Name is a local parish too, and while the Cathedral, it is no where near the largest church in Chicago. The three Basilicas in Chicago, along with many so called Polish Cathedrals, are stunning and worth a visit. Each year in October as part of Open House Chicago, many churches are open for the public to visit and learn more about.
I think you should also do videos on the most "Popular" Scientologists, and the most "Popular" Mormons, the most "Popular" Jehovah Witnesses and the most "Popular" Hare Krishnas...Lol
Great video bro in Christ! I love thé note you left on fear! The world is in fear but that’s the copposite of faith. The world cannot reject fear because it rejects God who makes all the difference. It’s God or Nothing (Robert Cardinal Sarah)
Blessed Pier Giorgio Fanssati is going to be a saint! In 2025 he will officially become canonized. He has become an example for a lot of young Catholics out there of how to follow God and live life to the fullest! In this clip I talk about him And his impact. But you should check out the full episode in the bio! #PierGiorgio #Saint #catholic #CatholicPodcast #Church
Huh?! the catholic church does not say that they save people! The church guides people in their faith in the Trinity. The words of the rosary namely Hail Mary Mary is quotes from the Bible, gospel of Luke, in between the decades you reflect of the seminal moments of Jesus's life and death. How is that unbiblical?
@@orangeandslinky did she not give birth to Him? Isn’t she a mother then? Did Jesus not entrust her to St. John and specifically said “here is your mother” ? If He said that to his St. John then did not show us how she is to be treated?
Goodness gracious, can we stop treating her like we just elected her pope. I don't see her being a traditional Catholic wife. She jets around the world, see her tik toks on her situation in airports, with her children and a nanny in tow. The last thing I want to hear is her opinions on Catholic history, philosophy, theology. You don't have be a scholar, but if you are going to opine about it you might want to read a book. And you better not disagree with her. Oh my gosh, throwing the Bible verses.
Does she really need to give her opinions on Catholic history philosophy and theology? Isn't that a bit biased given that almost half the Catholics don't know this. The important thing is that she is growing in her Faith in Christ. I mean even most evangelicals don't know all the protestant history and theology. I think we are placing unnecessarily high standards that Christ doesn't need. I hope she doesn't feel this pressure. She can explain off course, but she shouldn't feel the need to. This is a world, she'll be criticized by Catholics for not knowing her Faith and protestant for choosing the Catholic church. Yet, so long as one is in Christ we should be happy. Sad we can't see the devil's devices.
Anyone who really reads and understands the bible, especially the writings of the Apostle Paul clearly sees the Catholic teachings are counterfeit to the scriptures, the mere fact they claim their pope is the head of the church when scriptures tell us Christ is or that the pope is Gods emissary on earth again clearly stated that Jesus is and that the pope is infallible which again steals the glory of Christ. The Apostles claimed none of these things and were quick to rebuke anyone who said it of them. When you examine the doctrines of the Catholic church they are the opposite of Christs teaching.
Thanks for sharing. I understand these opinions are prevalent about Catholics. I encourage you to check out catholic answers to see the true beliefs of all things catholic!
Many people believe they can "read and understand the Bible" for themselves, yet they all contradict each other. We had a singular earthly leader from the beginning, starting with Peter. The papacy didn't just appear out of nowhere. If some guy came along later and said, "I'm taking over from now on" there would be evidence of an outrage. There is none.
