6:27 - 7:19 I love this definition of safe spaces ! "Nuturing a sense of security, respect and a felt sense of freedom to be completely you." "A sense of belonging is prioritized. Their feeling of acceptance is prioritized."
Motivo employs a supervisor who is on the board of a university that openly discriminates against the LGBTQ+ community, as well as women. Please look into your supervisor's background if you don't want your clinical work to be linked to someone like this.
@That Being Said - We really appreciate this suggestion. We completely agree that supervisees should thoroughly vet a prospective supervisor to ensure there is alignment in values and clinical fit. We also try not to make assumptions about the individual beliefs of our contracted supervisors - rather we encourage open dialogue between the supervisor and supervisee to discuss important issues such as equity, inclusion, and belonging. Our supervisees have all the agency and control of selecting a supervisor who is right for them.
hi ~ im "late to the party" just seeing this today, but this was cool...i learned alot especially about the existence of the ACA...what's missing for me, as a clinical minister, is what is the position on including clergy/ministers/pastors in the conversation as being part of a multilayered approach to counseling. in the meantime, everyone is invited to check out my very short "self-care" podcast Love Supreme Breathe about moving PAST normal💓
Here is the video with 17 cited sources. Start at 18 minutes and 13 seconds and hear the stunning conclusion at 21 minutes and 22 seconds. The 17 studies are cited. Over-all they show a pro-black bias. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-11kxfIi9ftA.html
This was great! I really enjoyed the conversation and information. Time to get involved on a higher level to keep producing change. And checking on each other, I really like that. Thanks so much for doing this!
This is one of the BEST panels! I missed it live because I took a client. In Education and real life, there is not enough focus on the specific challenges for Marginalized Counselors that are experiencing some of the same issues as our clients. Thank you for self-care action plans that do not feel laborious.
Hello to you all. Good to see you! My question is about your professional status. I see you all have "Dr." preseding your names but I don't see doctorate degrees listed. In your states, is a masters degree equivalent to a doctorate? Just wondering. Thanks, Jocelyn
