I'm running Ventura OS and used the Calibre & DeDRM versions in the video. When I try to modify the plugin to enter my Kindle serial number, the whole program just crashes. Have tried removing and reinstalling the plugin but to no avail. Any ideas?
any idea on how to fix a remarkable 2 that is stuck on "remarkable is starting" even though plugged to the wall with the given usb c charging cable that is fully working cuz it charges other devices.
Hi @gassari_ I’ve just asked @knucklesmarks what his experience was because he replaced his rM2 battery. We’ll wait for a response, fingers crossed 🤞🏼. He posted a message in the video comments before you, check it out.
@@MaverickNextGen Mine was actually still technically working when I decided to replace the battery, but there was visible warping due to the battery expanding. @gassari, if you're not sure whether the battery is the issue, maybe you could get a cheap USB power meter to check whether it pulls power from the charger. I'm not too experienced, but I imagine it's possible to know how much power it should be pulling. At least then you could tell whether the battery was charging. Sorry I don't have a more helpful answer.
Can you convert your handwritten notes to text on these created templates? If not how do I do this. I want to create a prefilled form to be able to take to clients, fill out blank text box with writing in them and saving it with text. Is this possible to do?

Question: Now that Remarkable is releasing the Remarkable Pro, do you/will you create an update to How to Integrate the Remarkable Pro with OneNote? I am moving from Apple Notes to OneNote to unitize PARA info organization method and want to know if I can integrate the Remarkable Pro I want to get with OneNote that I've very recently discovered I NEED to use!
Hi, great question, if I ever do get the Remarkable Pro I will. At the moment I’m still using my rM2 and don’t feel i need the extra goodness just yet. Having said that if my rM2 died on me which is possible then i will buy the rM Pro!
Hi Myrna, I’ve not used Libby before. From looking at this help.libbyapp.com/en-us/6059.htm and from what I have googled you would need to download the Adobe Digital Edition from Libby onto your desktop and then apply the DeDRM to the ADE file using something like Calibre. Would you be able to give this a go?

Hello, Just purchased the remarkable 2. When I send a notebook to my computer and save it as a PDF and print, it prints very small in the middle of the page and not actual size. Can you tell me if there's something I can do to fix this? Thank you

@@MaverickNextGen hi it happened in the end. i installed calibre 5, and added plug in as you showed, i added my device serial number and asked for converting. it tried and finally said it could not cnvert that file because of the type file
Sonoma 14.5 but i saw your other video and i installed an older version of calibra. 5 not 7. it worked few steps more but finally it didn t converted the file

So my remarkable 2 has an issue where whenever I press the power button it either doesn't work or it will come up with a menu that say "do you want to turn off your remarkable?" Often the device will then become unresponsive and crash. The button clicks just fine , I've never dropped it and it's in perfect shape. I think it might be a firmware issue, any thoughts?
If you don’t have the latest firmware, it’s worth updating. Otherwise send a support request to remarkable explaining your situation and see what they come back with. I hope it is a firmware issue and not a faulty unit.
@@MaverickNextGen UPDATE August 2024: At the time of writing I had updated firmware and contacted support. It was a long, frustrating, and ultimately fruitless endeavor. They wanted me to send my device back and purchase a refurb for $150. My warranty had expired three months prior to this issue occurring. I wasn't interested in shoveling more money into the Remarkable, I was feeling like this was a "manufactured failure." So I was going to take a stab at repair--and if that failed purchase a new Kobo Libra Color 2 for a similar price for a RM refurb. I ended up handing it over to a buddy who runs an electronics repair store and was lucky to have him handle this free of charge. He ended up replacing the power switch altogether, he said the component had corroded, likely due to hand sweat (checks out, I have sweaty hands). I think the process he took was very similar to what you showed in this video, except he would have soldered on a new switch. So far, it's working perfect though it has a little glitch in the animation when it goes to sleep, which is amusing. He even managed to get the back plate back on with minimal damage! TLDR: pays to know a guy or have the skills.
Thank goodness for your friend! You did the right thing by going to him, the rM2 at the end of the day is literally a PC and if you can find out which component is faulty you can replace it (assuming you have the skills) There does come a point where its not worth sending back to reMarkable if you have someone like your friend. Long live your rM2, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this video! Can you explain and show what backing you put on? I need to fix my power button but I’m sure I will have to replace the back. It looks very flimsy.
Hi, i created a metal backing which although very nice took a long time to make and was complex. I will see if i can figure out how to make a similar grey plastic back which is simple to do.
Note that remarkable no longer syncs your notes if you haven't made the terrible choice of "upgrading" to the continuous page nightmare (3.0 and after)
Thanks for confirming this. I haven’t upgraded to 3.0 and so cannot sync using reMarkable’s platform. @@MaverickNextGen thanks - got a hands on experience of Remarkable 2 of my friend. Really a paper 📝 like experience. The only problem is of synch with one note. Can I copy and save the remarkable file stored in Dropbox /cloud to one note ? What format does the remarkable use to save files in cloud ? Thanks
@@MaverickNextGen oh yeah but it’s pretty minimal, if you want it to look 100% perfect not the play, if you wanna fix it fast and cheep it’s definitely the move. Honestly if I had paid more attention I probably could have mitigated the scratches but I did it while watching tv.

Some nice insights. The question I had is when my content runs down past the visible page how do I grab that content as part of the copy (I can grab the visible portion but I can't grab the content below the visible. Do you know how to do that?
Sorry man, but i dont take the risk with a blower of ruining the backside of my remarkable. I will let it fixed at a repairshop, i think it is worth the money. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you for this proof of concept and explanation of the Remarkable layout. However, when it comes to simply repairing a stuck power button, this is overkill. The easier way to do it is: Tear off the white plastic cover at the back -- it's not glued, simply fixed with double sided tape. Just use your hands and fingers and tear it off gently. Then remove only the two silver screws holding the metal side bar -- don't touch anything else. With the screws removed, pull of the metal side bar, and you will have access to the power button. Repair it, put the side bar in place again, screw the two screws back in and refit the rear plastic cover, and that's it. All you will need is a very small Phillips screwdriver.
